    Default Bow-roof greenhouse foundation posts

    Hi everybody

I have started constructing my greenhouse. Foundation posts are set.
I need some advise. 4 corner posts have the same level but somehow some posts on the right line is about 1cm lower than left side. I dont want to cut the posts so my question is: will this cause any problem while putting up my arches?

Also, some sections are about 1cm wider than others. the width should be 6.25m but some parts are 6.26

    Thanks

1 cm? Less than half an inch? Surely this is a joke. Build it.

    It's a boat shed,not the space shuttle.
The "temporary" shed where my boat sits, is almost of legal drinking age, but looks as though it has already been indulging quite heavily.
( My boat has only been there since 2011.)

    Get on with it.

Yes. And keep cutting until they are all level.

Ground level. Like chasing chair legs, man.

1cm is more than acceptable. You should congratulate yourself on a fine job and move on.
    Seriously, 1cm is pretty good.

    Have fun.

    Peace,
    Robert

Can you not prop up the low parts if you're that worried? I'd say go ahead and build it, just like everyone else says. And have fun as Robert says.

(I'm assuming that's the purpose of the thing, since you describe it as a greenhouse. If you are planning to build a boat of a suitable size to occupy that structure, again, you are not the man to do that. You will get more than a 1 cm variance in things on a boat that size just with the coming and going of the timber over the life of the build.)

I'd bet dollars to donuts he (Grant/OldDad) was saying "build it". I think 1 cm for that length is remarkably close & would be jumping for joy if I'd gotten it that good.

PS: as one software geek to another: Did it compile? Does it work? Is the user happy? Put the sucker live!

If it makes you feel any better I'm sure there was more than a cm difference in the leveling of this shed, in lots of places. Which would be expected since I did zero ground prep.

The cover is getting pretty tatty but it has worked well so far and creeping up on three years old now.

If my post sounds harsh, it was really my way of saying Wow, great work, get on with it, and don't sweat the small, stuff, can't wait to see the boat that's going to be built in that huge sucker

Definitely don't sweat it, my bow shed was certainly not within 1 cm; the photo below is after 5 years in Central New Hampshire with some pretty hard winters. Only you will notice!

I disagree, he won't even notice. He'll be too busy building inside to notice a CM difference somewhere. It's not an office tower with 57 stories to it and a crooked floor. Get on with it and let's see a boat in there.
