Trump has blown this thing wide open. Anything seems possible now. Think Kid could turn out younger voters? Hello.

Kid Rock recently visited the White House with Palin and Nugent. The media howled with dismay that he was allowed to even be present in the Oval Office. They may be seeing a lot more of him there as he campaigns for office with Trump's support.

If you think Kid Rock will get out the younger voters, you are confused about younger people.

New poll has Kid Rock up several points on Debbie Stabenow in a hypothetical matchup. Just how toxic is the Democratic Party brand in Michigan? Trump has turned it into a battleground state.

Bite your tongue. I'm not endorsing The Rock (aka Dwayne Johnson), but the guy has attended a university and graduated with a bachelors degree. While he acts in the ring and on film, I think the guy has vastly more intellect than Kid Rock (aka Robert Ritchie).

I doubt he'll run, but it will be hard not to if the numbers continue to hold. In the end though, he's not really the story. It is the anti-establishment voter sentiment prevailing in Michigan that is most interesting (and gratifying).

In flipping to Trump and the Republicans in 2016, Michiganders have made their state a much more powerful force in federal politics. The power of populism.

A lot of people think they are currently above the law.

They will learn they are not.

This applies to racist who discharge their rifles during protests, 3rd-rate musician wanna-be politicians, and Presidents.

Ritchie should run if for no other reason that the Democrats would have to commit tens of millions of dollars defending a critical Senate seat once thought safe. That they might lose it is almost too delicious to contemplate.

Yes, Donald Trump has proven conclusively that what we need more of, in government, are politicians with absolutely NO experience in government.

After all, look how successful Trump has been!
"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

Note that he says he is not running. Then again, he says he is running. But what can you believe from a tweeting politician? The language and style does sound familiar, however, doesn't it?

It's been very successful on its own terms -- a giant tantrum. What it produces, or fails to produce, doesn't matter.

Running Kid Rock would destroy the Republican party in Michigan. As for Populism, the Republican's did once run a bonafide Nazi for U.S. Congress, against the sitting Speaker of the House, who lost but took 40% of the vote. FWIW, Michigan has been split pretty evenly between Democrat and Republican for the last 60 years. Ignoring that had a large part in Hillary's loss in the state.
