Nice! One of the most enduring qualities of an old wooden boat is the smell it imparts to your clothing. -

Re: The life for me
Well, I was trying to be nice about it. I mean it is a SAIL boat (ugh, how droll), and it has a varnished transom. Who in the heck would ever want that kind of tripe on a boat?
Whatever floats your, um, boat.
Peace,

Aren't you glad you didn't buy that glass cruising sloop with the punky deck last year, and instead held out for the chance at a truly classic wooden boat?Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.Comment

What's that thing people say when they really like a boat and want to delude themselves they would buy it if they could? "It's on the wrong coast...if only it were closer..."Comment

If you can't locate your boat in the mooring field, don't panic, she's set up for single-handing.Comment

Enjoy the canal, note the temperature difference, if you have a way of measuring the water temp. Lookout for the railway bridge. Are you heading for Provincetown, save a bucket of incredulity for when you cross Stellwagen bank, just after leaving P-town.Comment
