    Default William Garden

We recently purchased a 1965 63 ft garden designed MV and had the idea to start connecting with others who own garden designed boats.

I chatted recently with a fellow from Sanich BC who said a few years ago he helped organize a rendezvous of sorts for Garden owners. It only lasted a few summers then ended.

I think this or something similar would be a great idea purely out of respect for Mr Garden and for the fact that wood boats of Gardens vintage are slowly becoming less evident on the water.

    Cheers.

MV Bella. Ganges. Salt Spring Island BC.

    My favourite boat ever,

    Garden's Eel. But I don't own one.

An extended article about him, which mentions the 'Garden Parties" as the rendezvous were called: https://www.passagemaker.com/cruiser...william-garden

Garden's 'Eel' design was an 18' x 6' yawl, the pic shows what looks like a 35' vessel? Lovely boat, but it is definitely not an Eel, and actually does not look like a Bill Garden design at all.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. I have a serious Eel problem...
