Default Doug Peterson crosses the bar

Sailor, Boat Designer and Artist has crossed the bar.

Lots of great designs and good times on his boats. Those who never sailed on one are missing a treat.

Friends just sailed Pipe Dream (Jumping Jack Flash) in a race to Bermuda. They had a blast with a good time. They led the new 3 million dollar Hinckley which had professional crew until the Hinckley went AIS, radar and radio silent in light winds and passed Pipe Dream to get 3 hour ahead in the final evening.

Here Jumping Jack Flash in the 1982 Cup.

A large nose is the mark of a witty, courteous, affable, generous and liberal man. My feature suggests an excellent side kick of good index.

Mr. Peterson designed several successful sixes, and one of his last sailing adventures was in restoring the older six 'Bobkat II' to being better than new.

I used to crew on a Peterson 34. Had the best sail of my life on the Chicago to Mackinac. Finished third in our division.

FYI, JJFlash was not one of Doug's, it was (is) a Laurie Davidson design.

We are trying to archive EVERYTHING we can find for inclusion in a retrospective of Doug's work that will be housed at a major university and will be available online (eventually). So we would like to ask if any of you have back issues of the following Wooden Boat magazines that can be scanned and included in the collection.:

100:0 Peterson 41 Challenger cover shot
    11:76 Peterson 33 32'-10" sloop
    193:52 Lindy, Peterson 37
    261:14 Doug's Obit in Woodenboat
    180:68 Comment from Doug
    194:58 Comment from Doug
    185:56 Comment on Cotton Blossom
    30:50 Brown Sugar Peterson 38
    194 BOBKAT II

    Thank you for your help.
