It must have been a little bit heart rending as you explored. So well done getting through that.

Phil, if my attempts at humour offend Gary, he'll let me know.

Interesting, I’ve also only ever known it as grandpa's axe or my grandfathers axe, never heard of Washington’s axe - his apple tree (or ex apple tree) yes, but nothing about the axe that did it.......

Gary a more appropriate name may be “ship of Theseus"

I can even see the funny side of the outboard falling off now.
My take is that if you poke someone with a sharp stick they'll get annoyed, if you smile and shake their hand they will be your friends.

I think Phil thought I was being mean. I wasn't but maybe it wasn't so funny.

But I agree that dropping the outboard overboard is funny.

Though it sounds like the overboard is running all well now Gary? Do you have some landline spray that you can dose it with throughout?

    Your fine Rick, no probs.
The outboard was serviced shortly before it's swim so everything had a thin film of oil or similar. Apart from a slightly rusty screw in the starter motor it's all looking good. But I won't be up to look for over a week now so I will check then. Off to Russell Island for another building stint tomorrow. I'll be gone about 6 days.

I don't have it installed . Chrome just puts a red line under errors but doesn't auto correct.
