Great shot! But you shouldn't be posting beautiful pics like that or everyone will want to be here. Maybe we should mention the black flies.

And skeeters - don't forget the skeeters. Then there's all those lobster pots you have to dodge...

We were rafted up for supper when Callsign took the pic in the opening post. Waxwing was sandwiched between Scout and Slipper, where the view looked like this:

Yes, Coquina, built and sailed by Rob Hazard. See the photo in the original post for more of the boat.

sheesh... and my boats are still hanging in the garage. Shame on me!
I don't see your boom tents deployed. Sleeping ashore?

No, Rich, we slept on the boats. We rafted up to cook supper and have an evening visit before turning in, and we got some near dark practice rigging the boomtents.....happy to report that Waxwing's newest iteration works fine, with less windage, and easy deployment and take down....will have to get some pictures of it soon.

Please keep an eye out for our former schooner, MAGIC. She is somewhere up there in the fog this Fog-ust.

    A correction is needed here:
The fabled mosquitoes of Maine, contrary to popular myth, are NOT the size of Buzzards.
They are, in fact, no larger than common Grackles.
Furthermore, to reduce an adult human to an exsanguinated corpse requires at least a dozen of them!
They are not as loud as a chainsaw, either. More like a hedge trimmer on steroids.

To find skeeters the size of Buzzards you need to go to New Brunswick.

Now Blackflies, on the other hand...

The mosquitoes here are nothing compared to those in Georgia. Those can stand flatfoot and f*** a turkey.

Craig & Vicky - Is this perhaps your former lady? "Magic" out of Sausalito? She was weighing anchor and pulling out from just off Bold Is., in beautiful Penobscot Bay the day before yesterday. She is absolutely spectacular.

Would love to know her history, and contact info for her current owner (have some lovely images I would like to share with them).

Hi, Kevin: Yes that is (was) our lovely Lady. Her history probably ought to be a different thread.
Some of it is in an issue of WoodenBoat magazine (#136, pp 54-62) and our cruising tales are elsewhere.
Current owners are a delightful family from RI. I will send you a pm with contact info.
    Thanks for the follow-up.

MAGIC was in Brooklin a while ago. I looked her over when she was for sale in Friday Harbor, WA. Very special bronze work! She'll be featured in an upcoming offcenterharbor.com video. A couple with small daughters own her now. A very blessed family!

    She is a looker!

To post an image, rather than a link:
    1. Go to the Internet source of the image and copy the image URL.
    2. Back here at WBF, click on the image icon, sixth from the right, in the middle row of icons above the editor window
    3. When the input window opens,
    (a) paste your URL in the blank input field,
    (b) "unclick" on the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" thingy,
    (c) click on OK.
    (d) Bob's your uncle, "As they say."
Hope that helps... One of the most frequented topics here at WBF...

We will look forward to seeing what Steve and Eric turn out. Chris, Kara and the girls are indeed special folks.
And we are, of course, entirely objective about MAGIC, smaller cruising schooners, boomless foresails, cold-molded construction, etc. ;-)

Meanwhile, back on Casco Bay, that was a very tasty tot o' rum!

    Thanks, Capt. Callsign!

Steve and the crew have released a sweet video about cruising with kids aboard, using MAGIC. The link is here: https://www.offcenterharbor.com/vide...Z5aBmGd.Q44w9k .
(I hope that this link does not offend - both WB and OCH are helping to keep our knowledge and skills alive).
