We're in town Friday night - at the show Sat. & maybe Sunday. Leave Mystic Sunday late morningish - though that could be adjusted if need be.

    Love to get together!

Somewhat up in the air, but hoping to make a day of the show - probably Friday if at all. Have another must-do event on the 1st that I must be at, both fortunately and unfortunately.

I'm trying. May be, may not be depending...

Tried this before and I was the only one who showed up (and I PROMISE I took a shower!!)... nice little building with benches and a breeze, now also close to the Biergarten on the green... How much better can it get?

I'll be on Village green displaying my birdwing masted Welsford Saturday Night Special - blue boat with bamboo seats and single tanbark sail. Boat's name is Bernadette.

We'll be there. I'm hoping to be down by Friday morning Mary probably on Saturday. I think she'll be picking up a special West Coast guest at Logan on her way down.

Well. . . I'll be in NYC between July 11-16, and I plan to take the train out to Mystic one of those days, but that's as close as I can get. A bit too late for the party, alas.

Will be there Friday thru Sunday, hope to meet up with you all. Wasn't the Oyster House loaded with used books last year? Could spend a lot of time and money there.

The Reverend Sweetie and I are leaving MN this Saturday, wandering more or less slowly east, and will be staying in Mystic Friday and Saturday night.

    Good deal everyone!

Maybe folks not going to the tribute dinner Saturday night could be talked into a foray to Abbott's

    ^Not lobstah!

An alternative if Abbots is pam-jacked with tourrirists (Well, they tourrify ME!) is FORD'S just up the street. Every bit as fun as Abbots but all outdoors and minus the "Coney-Island" mini-vibe. Real waitresses! Parking is just a weird as Abbots, but that's Noank, ain't?

Looks like I gotta miss this one. I was hoping to shuffle (stuff) around but preparing to move and a previous promise has us in Groton the following week: looks like I've been scrod. Whole thing seems a bit fishy to me.

All us not-making-it castaways WILL be looking for an excess of PICTURES, especially of people and (hopefully) identified as well, but lots boats and canoes and skiffs and oars and ..... Oh Look! It's a BOAT!!

They are honoring George Luzier, boatbuilder, and Dana Hewett, recently retired Seaport stalwart manager of shipyard, grounds and collection. I'll be going to the TSCA get together.

I'm in the wandering aimlessly camp too. In town Friday through Sunday with my wife and two 20-something sons to celebrate a big birthday. Planning to stop by the O. House now, thanks for organizing.

First time at the show. I'm hoping there is a beer tent to keep the boys from getting bored -- this is my thing, not theirs, unless they catch the bug surrounded by all that mahogany. I can't wait.

Dan, there is usually draft beer on the lawn by the gazebo so no need to worry. It'll be great to see everyone.

FWIW, Spouter's also makes a very nice "Stormy", albeit a bit pricey at $9. If you show some interest in the bartender's skill, it may be a bit "stormier" than most.

Remember that Spouter's takes cash and c/cards, while the "Biergarten Zum Der Teufel" takes only those damn tickets. Nice bier, tho... At least Abe thought so.

Gee. Now I REALLY wanna "jump ship" and show up!

But, I have to keep an eye on the old waistline.

I've wondered for decades whether the namers of Mystic Seaport's "Seamen's Inn" were aware of the wonderful pun they created. Needless to say, I've been ejected from slicker places.

^ OK. You! Outta the pool, Gene!

"Seaman's Inne" is now "Latitude 41" (I think their customer base 'dried up'.): same adequate food, with newer and more elevated pricing.

For a proper fleecing, the "S&P Oyster" folks can't be beat, though. Thank Neptune for Noank.

    Cool beans!

I'm so happy to be getting to see old friends and to be able to put faces with Forum folks I haven't had the opportunity to meet in person before.

After the 11 am meet up we can continue to wander around and look at boats, go on a dark-and-stormy tour, or whatever

As far as Saturday night, I have no preference to Abbott's, it's just where we went one past year. There was also a place on the corner by the Whaler we went to another year, but every thing there is going to be so packed...

Ford's (Vince's suggestion) shows promise. It's just all about getting however many folks are available together!!!

On a miscellaneous note, I may be looking to kayak while I'm there. I recall there being a couple of rental places. If anyone has any specific suggestions, it'd be appreciated. The usual problem when I travel is I like to kayak at first light and well, there's no place open at first light...
