I bought one like that on Craigslist for two hundred and sold it the next year for five-fifty, again on Craigslist.

Locally, my friend Kim has a store that specializes in used boating gear. They sell some new gear, also. And they do internet sales. I wonder if there's something similar on the E. Coast. I'd be amazed if not.

If I had a beautiful Shipmate stove like that, I'd be tempted to build a boat around it!

Take a look at the group 'Sailboat Swap Shop' on Facebook. Not necessarily vintage stuff, but wide exposure. Too bad you couldn't have taken the stove to the Belfast nautical sale a few weeks ago.

I'm sorely tempted. Too many projects... like this one:

I think it would be dandy in a shanty boat, tho.

Here's a post from 2008. http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthre...oration-advice This refers to an original shipmate 211 (which has been offered new by the current company), specs: 22" x 15 1/2" x 20 5/8" 135 lbs. The post says good used ones go for up to $3K. !

Mine is a shipmate 1015, which is slightly bigger, I'm finding it difficult to discover the history of this model.

Good point. There's another Facebook group called 'Shanty Boats And Living Lazy On The Water'.

I have a client, a former circumnavigator, that has one like that hooked up in his kitchen. It doesn't heat the whole house but it sure makes it cosy around the breakfast table.
