    Cool...but does this mean we'll lose out helicopter support? The government's been threatening that for several years.

    That's not my impression, but it's been looming as a possibility for a while. Maybe our prez will have a 3am epiphany about not needing a Coast Guard at all, at all.

    Ahem....

    The two Sentinel-Class 154-foot Fast Response Cutters won't arrive until 2021, but should be a boon to the coast guard in Oregon. The two ships are expected to provide a 30 percent increase in annual operating hours on the water, and boast an improvement in operational capabilities over the older vessels.
