It appears to be a domestic dispute from early reports. Two adults dead including the shooter, two kids taken to hospital.

    many lives changed forever....

Why does one need more than one golf club? Or pairs of shoes? Or...

Truth is, I haven't shot mine in decades. Loud noises upset me now. But some have meaning, from competition or because it belonged to dad. I pull'em out on a rare occasion, wipe'em down, put'em away.

Funny thing is, I tend not to be attracted to women that like guns, they tend to be scary. How's that for a double-standard?

You hate what guns are capable of doing.

That assigns blame appropriately, and allows you to express a legitimate feeling without anyone being able to dispute it.

I also hate what guns are capable of doing.

The bad part is, I love what guns are capable of doing, sometimes, too. I used a gun just yesterday to dispatch a rat the cat had tortured for a while, then left to suffer.

Guns are beautiful, horrible machines, like the animals (including me) that wield them.

    Peace,
    Robert

the 'need' stupidity always astonishes me... if we were limited to what we 'need' there would be less boats and no art. I have pointed out that outlawing motorcycles would undoubtedly save lives yet people tell me that I am unreasonable and then tell us we never 'need' to hunt or target practice or defend ourselves... stupid

Nope - I hate guns ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY if it was up to me I would melt them all and make a monument to all those needlessly killed by them. I have NEVER EVER NEEDED A GUN

Again with the false equivalence. Baseball bats are not designed, built, and bought with the idea of killing people.

Well Joe, if Trump has his way, I'll be one of the ones rounded up, and I won't go quietly, even if it upsets me. In the past, I would have had trust in the criminal justice system, but now, knowing what I do, I know that I could be innocent and rot in jail for ten years without even going to trial.

I'm fine with hunting rifles used to put food on the table. But that's about it. Where is Utopia when you need it?
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Joe, I'll advocate that all rifle ranges should be turned into parks if you'll do the same with golf courses. And while I'm at it, I'll throw away the cars and the bars and the war, and make sweet love to you.

I am surprised you need to have it pointed out that a baseball bat is a 'club'.

want to rethink your false equivalence statement now?

also, I point out that our muscle boy bragged about using a baseball bat on someone he thought was going to rob him
