I will be there...looking forward to it. I will show either a customer's Drake 17 or the brand new Drake Raceboat being built there in PT.

Since I'm retired I've got no excuse so I finally plan to make it there. Heck it's only 3371.4 miles away. Bringing a boat is not likely.

I am currently trying to sell the house, quit my job, load the family aboard and get underway to somewhere in the Olympic Rain Shadow before the festival, so maybe we will be anchored up there this year.

The miracle of this plan is that the wife has approved it.

I'm hoping to come with my car-toppable Adirondack guideboat- and I'm in search of a ride- boat and all with anyone coming from the Portland, Oregon area or points south. PM me and perhaps we can work out some arrangements.

I'd be glad to help, but our Nutshell pram gets first dibs on the roof and our Eel occupies the only available trailer hitch ball. Sorry.

Last year it was at 6pm at the small beer shed on the point. I got there more or less at 6, maybe a bit after and there were already many forum members slogging it down. So it would appear that time is relative.

I've signed up to display my Rascal on its trailer. Not sure what to expect or exactly where it will be located, but I'm looking forward to the show. I made two info sheets, one for the boat, one for the engine - any critique would be welcome

EBS is Saturday at 6pm. The Bar on the Point works a lot better than Bar Harbor.

    Be there or be sober!

Yes I am coming to the Festival too! I will be wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a black BYC bill cap. I will also be walking with a pair of ski poles that I use as curb feelers as I fall in the gutter a lot!

All of the hotels and motels in town are booked solid as of today, Sept. 6! Over two hundred boats are registered for display! This should be one heck of a good show! My friend Bruce Tipton will be demonstrating spar making techniques. Ed Louchard who owns Zephyr Works blocks and shivs will be selling his beautifully made blocks. And, of course, Lin Pardy will be speaking on some fascinating boating topics we all will enjoy. I, hope to see you there! Sorry bunch I will not demo anything this year. This is due to a busy scedual with our new roofing job on our house.

I'm heading to airport for a very long day of traveling. Looking forward to finally making it to the WBF and seeing how you other coasters put on a boat festival. 3 full days of wooden boats and wooden boat people! It's gonna be great. See you there.

I'll be there on Saturday. I'm (probably) bringing a Dave Gentry Shenandoah 13' SOF Whitehall that I built a few years ago. My friend Matt Johnson owns the boat now, but I'm going to borrow her for the day.

If anyone wants to row her let me know. I'll probably pull the boat way up on the beach out front of the Maritime Center. If anyone happens to falls in love with the boat (if you know what I mean, wink wink), please know that Matt can generally be found at the R2AK booth.

Checked the show out on Fiiday after the morning gave us a bit of rain. Welcome because of the smoke from the wild fires and heat! I stopped in and chated with my friends Amy and Ed Louchard at Zypher Works which is out beyond the Hudson Point Cafe. Ed has come up with a unique tool that I just had to have. It is a five and a quarter inch long wire splicing fid that is made of Titaniam. It is comfortable in he hand and is feather light with a duck bill end. All in all, it is one of the best splicing spikes I have ever seen! The blocks and shives are works of art as well.

Todd Rogers, who owns Common Sense #1, came up as our guest from Newport Beach CA and is staying with us. This is his first fair. He is having a heck of a lot of fun and commented this morning that the Festival is like a Rennisance Fair for boat people! Best description I have ever heard. But, they don't serve mead!

Went to WBF yesterday and had lots of fun!
First the weather was perfect - few years ago was really hot and we were done after 2-3 hrs, just too tired to go on.
................got to meet Peter - owner of fast boat Rascal. Lots of fun to talk about his vintage Mercury, found out more about Mercury rebuilder Dr. Frankenmarc. Great to meet you Peter! Fantastic boat!
................this former troller Josephine from Olympia caught my eye so I went to take some pictures for Chris.........after we come back home I have found out that that's Sam Devlins boat !!!!!! OMG - and he was there too - I could have at least say hi and complement him on his designs!!.....
...............and now Jay is saying that Todd Roberts was there too !!!!! ....

When I finally retire I will have time to go back the next day and fix all my screw-ups ( not getting to talk to all people that I wanted to during first day )....until then it's time to go to work again.
