Well now I know what Ernie Baird has been up to since he sold the business. He and his crew did some beautiful work on my old boat Savona back in the day. Lovely boat they have. I'll be rooting for them for sure, among all the go fast boats.

Deadline for applications is 15 April. Looks like the interest is way down from the first two years unless there is a rush of applicants between now and then.

I think you will see a flurry of entrants in the next couple of weeks. I'm terribly excited that Ernie Baird will be racing. Gracie B ain't the fastest thing, but she's easy on the eyes.

I've actually raced against Grace B., on Lake Union. I was in a Blanchard Jr. Knockabout. They were quick, but didn't point terribly high.

That is one of the most beautiful boats in existence, in my humble opinion.

well at least there is a photo of the Grace B on the R2AK site (pretty boat) ... Switters, you've copy and pasted the most informative verbage from 5+ paragraphs ostensibly about the boat and team... did they hire a frustrated stand up comic to do the write ups about each team?

Last year Colin was sail and oar, in a RowCruiser hull. This year he is rowing only in one of his Expedition rowboats, with no sail.

By the way, another wooden boat connection, Elena Losey and Kristen Pedersen are, respectively, the former livery manager at the Center for Wooden Boats and ther current programs manager at CWB. Nice folks, fine sailors!

Looks like it has become a real mess out there for the sail boats. ~30 knot winds from WNW. Looks like on the flood, too. Also, Discovery is not yet "in". He is holed up at James Bay, right at the entrance to Victoria. Looks like wind may have blown him to shore, and maybe so strong he can't launch. Looks like winds may drop late afternoon and through the night, so they will be straggling in well under the wire.
