    You left the staples in. Are they nonferrous? I just watched a video on utube at the weekend, some guy spent an entire day picking them out. Maybe those plastic nails are good for this also?

    The vast majority of the staples used were plastic staples. Not so much to avoid rusting - as these things are buried deep inside the wood layers behind epoxy, glass etc. and therefore will never experience salt water - but because you just sand over them in the fairing process without affecting the sanding paper or any tools.

    But I remember there were some locations where ordinary metal staples used when higher holding power was requested that could not be delivered by the plastic variety. In this case the pressure of the staples gun was adjusted to sink them deep into the veneers so that they also could be left in the wood without harming later coming tools.

    The next step now: Deck and cockpit trim. After all the witheness a wooden boat is appearing again:






    And the rudder is put together, quite a hefty piece of boat:



    If you look closely you can spot the lever to connect the autopilot ram to.
