Default Free plans plus eyeball canoe

Hard to tell from these pics but it is a flat stern, inside chine version of the Lazy Weekend canoe. I'll post better images later, I was just trying to figure out how to post pics.

Made some headway. Funny how digital cameras seem to distort images.

The camera makes it appear to have a lot of rocker.

But it looks like a boat!

I used the plans for this boat but I didn't pull the stern together for a stem. About the same rocker as far as I can tell. I'm using epoxy, Titebond III. It will not be glassed. It's for grand kids. We'll see how it works and how long it last!

Nice work. Coat the ply with a few coats of epoxy, then use a decent exterior paint and it will last at least a decade. Just limit the exposure to the elements when its not being used. My dad and I built a Luan one sheet skiff in the early 90's. I was in third grade then. The boat finally rotted out from neglect my junior year of college. It made such an impression on me that I am building one for my kids now. Well cared for, construction material boats can last a long time, but I doubt I would build one with the expectation that they are going to be heirlooms. Though there are some pics on the 'net of a Witholz catboat built in the 60's or 70's using fir ply that has held up pretty darn good. Its all about they are cared for. Anyway, for a fun boat to get the youngsters on the water, your canoe will be great.

Good build, and I bet your grand kids will love it.
    Have fun

Nicely done, I built a pirogue a few years back that ended up with a fair amount of rocker. You may want to think about a skeg if you haven't already.
