    Default LastBoat - Launch Date

We'll slide her in on the afternoon of Saturday 19 November. And then her true name will be revealed.

    All are welcome.

We'll have fire and ice so the "I'm not responsible" potluck will be a matter of bring what you want, enough food and drink for yourself and just a bit more to share.

While not an actual job requirement to work at Pease, almost everyone plays something so when they jam it's the Boys' Boatyard Band. All people bringing any instrument or voice will want to join it.

She'll be going in far from commissioned. Like no spars or leeboards, two cabins unfinished. I'll be doing all that stuff over the winter and we'll get to sea trials in the spring.

Great news, but is it better to launch this late in the season rather than wait for spring?

Gives her time to gently take up without the stress of throbbing engines and wind stressing the spars and stays.

I still advice against those twin outboards. A single Yamaha 350hp should work just fine.

Okay... Sounds like a great time Ian. Not in my cards right now, but if something changes I'll bring a bottle of scotch.

Excellent news... obviously there's been a lot of progress since I saw her in the very early spring.

I'm going to try to make it down there!

Sorry I can't be there Ian, but there's a bit of water between me and thee. But congratulations on completing the boat and good luck for the launch.

Would love to make a run over for her launching, but alas, that is not in the cards for me that day, Ian. I hope to see her at some point in the future and hope to get down there when she's floating. Congratulations on the milestone - to both you and Pease. Good work by all involved from what I see.

There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

I'll be there in spirit, well, part of my spirit anyway. The son's got a important interview that morning in Halifax, and I'll be doing the road trip with him for moral support.

I'll have you know, Ian, that you've messed up my opportunity to have a couple of pints with MMD on my only planned trip into Nova Scotia this Fall. Seems he's got better things to do ... You've a brilliant project there, and once again I'm just envious as hell.

Closing in. The actual launch ceremony will start at 1400, Saturday, 19 November.

People are coming from all over, like even Nova Scotia. Anyone coming anytime Friday might want to let me know. Maybe we can have a sort of pre thingy then.

    Gonna be grand.

Got cousins, sibs, Michael Mason, Howard Ray, Mainers and so forth arriving Friday.

We could start an epic EBS.

    Give a call. 508-776-3397.

And we can put everyone to work late Saturday morning to be sure we've stuff in place for the put luck.

    Dress warmly!
