Congratulations. She's a fitting reward for your persistence.

Congratulations! Looks like a really good one. Anxious to hear more once you get to know her a little bit....and see more pics.
Planning to retrieve her in May. My wife and daughter want to join me. St. Michaels is a really pretty locale.
Won't do much to her until the house and workshop are built in SC. She'll be a fitting first project in our new home.
Despite being out of the water, and fortunately under cover, for over a decade she looked really good. No open seams in the planking. A small soft spot on the port rubrail forward.
With the help of a friend we tapped all over the hull. Even the few butt ends were solid. No sprung planks, she's still fair.
She'll need to be wooeded below the waterline at least. That'll reveal anything we may have missed.

Nice.
I've never seen a trailer like that with the aft dropping, on hydraulics?
Wonderful find!

Yes, gaff rigged. Motor is hung off the rudder. That could change, looking at powering options.
As to the 3rd world comment that was by a local surveyor in Bristol, and I think it was more about access to the island in the winter than socioeconomic conditions there.
In the end things ended well. I found a classic wooden catboat below the Mason-Dixon Line. Well just barely!![]()

Sweet....
Album of the build here: http://imgur.com/a/mdaI8
In 1994 a friend and I built a 15' 9" Crosby Catboat (If memory serves-it was a long time ago) He had gone to Mystic to attend a boat building class and came back all fired up to build the boat that they had made at the class. I needed a summer job so he hired me to help him with shared ownership of the boat as part of the deal.
Here are some photos of the build and the first launch. I have more somewhere but I think I put them somewhere "safe" so I wouldn't lose them. So, they aren't lost but I don't know where they are.
A few years after we built it, he moved to San Francisco and didn't want to take it with him because he felt the it wouldn't sail well in the bay. I was in Connecticut and wasn't in a position to take care of it and dock it. He ended up finding someone in Maine and gave it to him.
I noticed upon looking at the photos that we notched the keel to accept the ribs. I've since learned this is not recommended. I don't know if he learned that at the class or if he came up with that on his own.
I often wonder how the boat is these days, I don't know the name of the guy who took the boat.

I don't know how I missed your find Mark,... very pretty! She should provide a lot of enjoyment.
Well last Sunday we started a road trip to retrieve Catnapper from her long time home in Saint Michaels, Maryland. Took 2 days on the way up. Spent the night in Edenton NC, an absolutely beautiful little town.
Monday we loaded her up on the trailer I found in Rock Hill SC. I added keel rollers and a disc brake kit.
Here she is emerging for the first time in many years.

Ready for a long straight thru drive to Georgia.

Safe and sound in my driveway. I'm going to find a storage facility for her until it's time for us to move to Beaufort late this year or early in 2018. That's when the resto thread can commence!

Excellent. She's a beauty. Best of luck with her.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
+1!

Looking good! Is there any reason for not going for a sail or two before a restoration? It might reveal a few things if you can get afloat.
Nice storage "facility" down in Navarre, FL...just sayin...
Beautiful boat and the trailer looks perfect. Great name too. Congrats on the new addition!

Shes been dry for maybe a decade or longer. Got some learning to do on restoration, but I've heard she needs to swell up a bit before I begin. Can't see any daylight between planks and no soft spots found yet, though the paint is cracked at pretty much every plank line. Also the planks are a bit proud at the transom. Seems like a recent WB had an article about this.
