Default Contact for Don Kurylko http://www.dhkurylko-yachtdesign.com

Does anyone have any contact information for Don Kurylko of http://www.dhkurylko-yachtdesign.com

I would like to get the D18 Myst plan but I am unable to access his website for a couple weeks now.

    Thanks,

Yes, I have an email for him. If you want to pass on your email in a private message, I'll forward it to Don so he can get back to you. I'm building his Alaska right now and was just in touch with him a week or so ago, so I know he's still out there.

Don is living aboard his boat in a yard near Vancouver, finishing up final touches before launching. His internet access is intermittent.

    Hi There,
Don's website (the link in the previous post) seems to not be working, and I can't find one in google either. Is he still selling plans? (beautiful boats by the way )

I'm not sure how he's handling plans these days, but I am in occasional contact with Don. If you send me a PM with your contact info, I will pass it along to him so he can get back to you.

WoodenBoat's Small Boats 2019 has a great article featuring DH Kurylko's Alaska design. I've admired his Alaska and Myst designs for ages. What was once his site, dhkurylko-yachtdesign.com, no longer exists.

Any information on what happened to him, his site, the plans, and/or if the plans are still available anywhere else?
Asked on the Wooden Boat Forum facebook page, and i was suggested I ask here. I liked dropping in on that site, and dreaming of another build..

Don is semi-retired but still selling plans. I will PM you with his email info. I built an Alaska, launched in 2017--great boat:

I didn't know the design is featured in this year's Small Boats--good to know!

Edit to add: OK, I'm an idiot. I wrote the article--it's my Alaska that's featured, in my cruise to Georgian Bay last summer featured on THIS THREAD as well... I thought you meant it had gotten a design review article as well. At least, that's my excuse.

    Tom-

Where did Don end up? Last I saw he was getting ready to sail into the sunset on that gorgeous boat he built.

I'm enjoying the article. Grew up in Erie, PA, and have been in the Chicago area nearly 30 years, I've traveled the land between here and Niagara quite a bit. But the actual shorelines of the great lakes hold my interest. And a co-worker was describing the Georgian Bay area to me, from his family vacas. Maybe when I retire soon...

Really like the boat, and wouldn't mind some up-close featuring of it. Have to admit, I haven't searched here yet to see if you've already done that.

There are some threads with photos--I can post more depending on what you're interested in. Meanwhile:

I chose the Alaska mostly by looks alone before I knew exactly what things I wanted in a cruising boat. I lucked out--it's a great design, pretty much perfect for my purposes.

From what I understand, he's living aboard making final preparations for setting sail. Not sure where, but I think the west coast of Canada somewhere?
