    Back to the aft cabin and side deck dimensions for a bit. I did some more measuring and it turns out that I will have room for 10" wide side decks with the aft cabin as drawn. I'm confident that will be wide enough based on some impromptu tests I performed in spots where the existing side decks are about that wide. So that's ok then. Phew!

    I went out and measured Dixie Rose's side decks. They are 9.5 inches wide and have a 1.5(wide)x1.25(tall)inch toe rail. This works in conjunction with handrails on top of the cabin.
