Well, it was a good run while it lasted.
    Yup. Too bad.

I don't like Bluedog's politics or his cartoon, and I think the ethics of the statement his cartoon makes are vile in any analysis, but hey, if the thread is labled "Political Cartoons" rather than "Left-leaning poltical cartoons," his political cartoons are as good here as anyone else's.

The best thing I like about using freedom of speech and/or expression as a defence, is that it reveals how the offending statement's *only* defence is in that right, otherwise it would be supportable by other, socially valuable attributes.

So let's let that one go on a freedom of speech and expression defence. And someone open a hatch; the atmosphere is getting pretty rank.

What's the problem? Someone posted a controversial cartoon, and others commented on it. That seems well within the purpose of the thread.

And while we're talking about these things, we learn things. I take bluedog to be a decent, normal conservative. The fact that the cartoon in question resonated at all with him tells me something about the state of conservatism in this country.

Now, there's an excellent example. Why does the American right glory in its sense of victimhood? If a liberal were to go, boohoo, I'm such a victim because you didn't like it when I disagreed with you, conservatives, who have never been shy about attacking and insulting those they disagree with, would say something like, 'harden up, snowflake!' But when you're a conservative, you get to play the victim all the time, and it's never a sign that you're a wuss.

The poor dears are just confused. They can't tell the difference between tolerable and intolerable behaviour, and because liberals tolerate tolerable behaviour, they think liberals are hypocritical for not tolerating intolerable behaviour.

Life is hard when you don't have a reliable moral compass, or have become so used to black and white, rule-based authority that you've forgotten how to use one.

What are you doing about it?

Speaking of wuss, how many other judicial nominees were found crying and yelling before the senate?

I wonder how many times Kavanaugh himself was swayed as he watched testimony from an indignant witness in tears on the stand?

Oh, I think discussion of the cartoons is allowed, but if it pleases you, this is pretty much what Orca said...
