Is the iconography Eastern Orthodox or Catholic?

Another religious photo-op for the base (cough cough Barr).

Visit to the Pope John II shrine in DC, which is owned by Knights of Columbus. Local Archbishop was pretty lit up about it.

It was pretty well covered during the news cycle.

Sucking up to the extreme religious right. He couldn't find a tent revival near the WH so he had to settle for nearby Catholic and Episcopalian churches. Wow, did that ever backfire!

I'd say that she's feeling pretty trapped. She cant pick up and go home to Slovenia, the crap would follow her there, there would be a fight over Barron who would be totally unable to fit in there, the US security people would likely hook her out and take her back, she cant go and live at Mar a Lago, or the apartment in New York ( tried that). About the only thing she can do is keep to a separate bedroom and keep her head down, which from most accounts is what she's doing.
I do hope for her sake that she's been squirrelling some funds away where she can get at them when the fecal matter hits the fan.

It's too bad. Life doesn't have to be like that.

I think it may have something to do with those 2 hamburgers on the corners of the table. He wanted 2 to her 1.

Somebody had to let them in. While some sanctuaries used to be open 24/7, I would think not these days.

Professionally lit? With modern cameras, heck even a phone camera, they are so light sensitive, pretty much WYSIWYG, that proper lighting for a photo is becoming an afterthought unless you need high resolution, and the res for that shot looks low. Plus you can color correct easily afterward. (Back in the film days, I would take long exposures indoors and fluorescent lights would tint things green.)

I like the way all the icons appear to be looking at them. "Who let you two in?"

The "where" is the SaintJohn Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C.
The "why" is just a photo op, although the visit was planned for something else.

The last few photos I've seen seem very uncomfortable, I think they both look entirely out of place. Likely for different reasons. The two 'church' pics do look like they've been pasted on, and in fact of course they have figuratively.

The weight of God's disappointment and wrath are hanging heavy on his head.
He know's that he is doing wrong and it shows in every vibrating molecule of his wretched being.
The same with the weight and heat of the holy book that he proffers up to his unholy minions.
He is shamed to his core, but it gives him a feeling of power and lust to think that HE is the all powerful one here and the true believers are following him.
