Default How the dems and lose and how they can win

They lose by nominating someone other than Sanders in such a way that Sanders' voters stay home on election day.

They lose if Sanders is the nominee, and they've given supporters of others a reason to stay home on election day.

Dems win if, and only if, they can get ALL their different supporters to vote for whomever the nominee is.

They win if they fight hard and flip the senate, and keep the house, then the presidential nominee will be pulled to victory.

I disagree. Even if some of Sanders people stay home in disgust like last time I think Trump gets clobbered. Turnout doesn't have to be much higher in 2020 than it was in 2016 (55.7%) to give the Democratic nominee a decisive edge.

Depends on the states. Don't forget the EC.

dems lose on gun control and raising taxes
dems lose on open borders and being weak on defense
dems lose by acting as if they're smarter than everybody else
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

I'm not sure I agree with all of that. The dems do have a very bad habit this campaign of giving Trump clips he can put in ads against whomever the nominee is.

Win if united, lose if divided? Seems plausible. I doubt lukewarm enthusiasm for voting will be a problem; Trump has taken care of that.
