    Question

Years ago, a great uncle had a pocket telescope, perhaps 10 or 12 power, bronze I think, about 4 to 6 inches long...

It was well made, convenient, and gave a clear view as I remember (this was in the 1950's--- I was 8 or 10 years old).

Anyone here know of the product, or who made it???

    Alan

(a duplicate post, for those who try to stay out of the bilge )

No idea - but if you're more interested in function than form, Orion Telescope has an "Eagle Eye" 8x32 monocular, bronze colored, that's supurb.

In addition to their low cost and compactness, a monocular is less likely than binoculars to get knocked out of alignment.

For a truly weird experience try looking at the world with two monoculars. You end up feeling like a chameleon( lizard)

Years ago, my family bought a boat that had various odd-ball items included. One was a small telescope. My father tried to use it but found it impossible. We kids played pirate with it but couldn't use it very well 'cause it's hard to keep one eye closed while maintaining your balance on the boat.
However, our neighbor and frequent crew who had lost an eye in Korea picked it up one day and fell in love. Not sure if he ended up with it when we sold the boat.
