We got to Carriacou about 10 days ago, 40 ish hours from Dominica. About 1 am the first night anchored I fell on the boat and got a decent concussion and pinched a nerve in my neck. Lost the use of my arms , they hurt like a mother. Slowly coming back . Dizzy when I sit or stand. Seeing an osteopath here . My job is to do nothing... something Iím not at all good at.Lots of codene first few days( over the counter here). Just tap tap tap on Facebook and here. No walking, swimming, boat projects... nuttin .
Glad I dropped the 100 pounder before I fell .

Sorry to hear about your fall, but it sounds like you`re on the road to recovery (I hope)!

Best wishes from grey and dismal Germany,

Damn! Be careful out there & heal up soon. I get it about not being good at doing nothing.

Heal well, Bruce. I once did more than a year like that. Immobile. Unable to sit or stand.
I lost tons of weight and read all the books. Twice.

    Peace,

Sorry to hear about that Bruce. Take your time to recover. Nothing good comes of trying to get going too soon after a concussion

Goodness. Rest up and take care. And did you say that you're still tossing around 100 pound objects?

This little blue place is new since I was here 2 years ago, its built on a trailer. This photo is taken from where we are anchored.

It is half bar and half BARBERSHOP!!!! It wakes up after dark.
I paid a visit on my first trip ashore(other than physio massage) last night.

These guys take their barbering seriously. This was a 45 minute trim...$20E.C.($8 US)
Alas...I cant drink for awhile...I usually would have had a few beers while Kevis was clipping.

Ha! That reminds me of a trip I took to a buddy’s “fade shop”. I usually cut my own hair (with fire), but decided to go have a haircut.
Dude used 13 pairs of clippers and took about 35 minutes to trim the back and sides of my head.

Don't get me wrong, my hair looked PERFECT! Still, I don’t care that much about my hair. Although, I have been thinking of going back and having a design shaved in my head...

    Peace,
    Robert

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

Iím thinking a C fracture is WAAAAY better than an L fracture, especially if, as it seems in your case, the neck is relatively stable. It seems to be, anyway, judging by that haircut shot. It sure would explain the pain, eh?

I hope this is just a shortened season for you, Brother.

    Heal well. And quickly.

    Peace,
    Robert

It's good to have friends there who can take care of the boat. Glad you're getting medical help. I sent a PM. Call me if I can assist.

That's terrible news. Reminds me of Chichester- he fell on his boat before setting off and couldn't use his leg for 15 months. Dangerous things, boats, covered in hard objects and always trying to throw you. Glad you went to the doctor! Heal well.

That’s sad particularly right in the middle of your cruising season. Then again a more serious fracture while passage making would have to be everyone’s nightmare.
Happy to hear you can haul out the boat in Carriacou with friends helping. Here is hoping for a fast recovery.
