Source for copper rod

I'm looking for a source for 1/4" copper rod to use as rivets to fasten my new tiller to it's bronze fitting. (It's the way it was originally fastened) I don't need much, just a foot to make four 3" rivets.

They are a little more expensive than suppliers that specialize but they have almost everything. If you value your time searching for essoteric parts, you come out cheaper in the end with McMaster.

You should get a catalog from Small Parts Inc. They have copper rod and all kinds of goodies. I am an instrument engineer and I phone order stuff from them that I cannot find any place else. Their web Site is www.smallparts.com.

I second that inquiry about the instrument repair source. I have an old Kenyon hydraulic knotmeter from our 22 sq meter that needs...something. It doesn't leak, but doesn't return to zero correctly either. I'd like to keep it and not bugger up the boat with something electronic.
