I'm looking for a source for 1/4" copper rod to use as rivets to fasten my new tiller to it's bronze fitting. (It's the way it was originally fastened) I don't need much, just a foot to make four 3" rivets.
Thanks for any help!

Try http://www.mcmaster.com/
Good source for small quantities of most metals. They have 1/4" copper rod in several lengths and tempers.

My eyes bugged out when I saw the extent of their material! Thank you!

McMaster-Carr is the big cahuna of industrial supply companies. Kind of a Grainger on steroids.
They are a little more expensive than suppliers that specialize but they have almost everything. If you value your time searching for essoteric parts, you come out cheaper in the end with McMaster.

Rich - You're probably already squared away, but here's another source, Alaskan Copper and Brass:
http://www.alascop.com/
A Seattle group. Has bronze rod, probably copper as well.
Cheers,
Jeff

Rich,
You should get a catalog from Small Parts Inc. They have copper rod and all kinds of goodies. I am an instrument engineer and I phone order stuff from them that I cannot find any place else. Their web Site is www.smallparts.com.

I notice you are an instrument engineer.
I am restoring an old Chris-Craft Sea Skiff, and many of the original instruments need work.
Are you aware of a good book that might educate me on marine instrument repair and restoration?
I'll appreciate any suggestions.
Alan

Thanks much for the sources!
I second that inquiry about the instrument repair source. I have an old Kenyon hydraulic knotmeter from our 22 sq meter that needs...something. It doesn't leak, but doesn't return to zero correctly either. I'd like to keep it and not bugger up the boat with something electronic.
