caulking

I am restoring an older (1965) ketch and need opinions about caulking.
Generally ,I have used 'boat life" or the 3-M products, but recently someone suggested a product I know nothing about......"slick seam".
Any opinions regarding it's use and quality would be appreciated.
What type of bottom paint is best with Slick Seam? Does the product hold up?
I have been told that it is really easy to use.Do you have to first use oakum before the Slick Seam is applied....etc.

Slick Seam is at best, a temporary 'fix' for a leak, etc. It is in no way meant to replace caulking of any type,or to pay seam with. Hell, it's only wax, remember the guy with the 'wax' wings???
