The funnt thing about the L-V April Fools' Day tools is that their toolmakers actually build them, so sez Rob Lee.

I think last year's was a marking gauge with something like 50 adjustable rods/cutters.

    I love the disclaimer:

Disclaimer - Not for use in proximity to large masses of ferritic steels. Do not wear when operating power machinery, particularly (but not limited to) hand-held grinders, drills, weed-whackers, and chainsaws. Ineffective for use with bronze tools (the bronze age is over). Not for use as a human suspension device. We cannot ship by air. Use prohibited within 50m of navigational devices. Keep off migratory bird paths. Keep away from pacemakers, credit cards, active forges, and MLEV tracks. Do not enter VHS rental premises. Limit one per household - do not approach other belt users. Does not improve blood flow, automobile mileage, or the taste of food.

I love Lee Valley's April Fools offerings! I remember last year's gatling tenon scribe which had me going for a moment!

I assume that Steven Bauer edited the photo from the Lee Valley web site to add the broad ax and slicks. If that is the case, good work Steven. I like your version better !!!!

Nah, it's on the Lee Valley site. You have to click "view" on the first link, after "Veritas pouchless tool belt."

I don't think the Veritas crew photoshopped the image, either. As Nicholas says, they really build these things.

That belt is truely out of the wild west. Think of how many guns it could carry to a school yard massacre.
