I was reading about Cunliffe's "Westerman" and read that the Stainless steel bits were given a matt black finish. Any idea what finish this was? I know it was to copy the workboat appearance.
In old boat construction where bent frames had mortises in the keel which left an area for water to collect. I understood Kuhls marine glue was used or pitch pine. Is the marine glue still available or what can be used in it's place without resorting to pitch pine or cement?
Thanks,
Joe
