Another tip is to use the over-under coil that roadies use for microphone wires, it's bliss to just grab a skein, throw it out and watch it stretch out like a rope coloured line to the target.
I never use the various coils my father once taught me since I discoverd this one.

Yep, its over here as well. Got any projects in mind for the winter Jim? Maybe you should make an opening in your tarp so you can extent the stove pipe up through the top and get heat aboard while you are working on her.

The summer did just sort of fly by. Running the stove and working on the boat does sound awfully nice. As far as projects go, I have a few in mind. It is probably time to finally paint the overhead in the cabin, I’d like to replace the plywood ceiling I installed in the cockpit this summer with some nice tongue and groove, some cabinets under the aft deck would be nice too, and the there is the cabin top that needs to be redone.

It’s a pretty ambitious list. I’d be pretty happy to get half of it done.

There also the new hatch I’d like to build over the raw water intake valve, some rudder work, and probably a couple other things I haven’t thought of yet.

Ah, yes - that sounds pretty much like my list for Petrel as well. I just keep reminding myself that I can only tackle one thing at a time and it will get done when it gets done...

Just got back from a pretty cool trip to Afognak and finally got around to going through the log book and adding up the hours for the summer. We just missed hitting 100 hours of of run time this season, we came in at 99.75 hours under way which was 25 days of boat time. I can live with that.

And, because I don’t have any new boat pictures, here are a couple of gratuitous pictures of fall in south west (central?) Alaska.
