He said he really didn't want to crush this boat, but he'd have to unless I wanted to take it home.
So Tuesday it is coming home.

Well, that's pretty cool. Does it come with the appropriate ownership paperwork?

Oh gee--take it! It looks lovely and not bad in this shot.

Harbor master has clear title and gave me a bill of sale, which is all I need to successfully transfer title.
She does need some work but has a fairly fresh yanmar and a nice dickenson cook stove. The deck has some issues, the hull is fairly sound. I just couldn't let her go to the landfill.

Today is one of the best days of boat ownership, we'll see about tomorrow.![]()

Awesome. Congratulations, Jim! Five should fit on that nicely. Is she shallow enough to make it out of your water? I know that was a concern when planning the bigger sailboat. I don't think she'll make it through the tunnel! What design is she, by the way?

I really don't know much about her yet. The harbor master thought she was built in 1938 and I think she is a Blanchard boat, other than that.....
I don't know if she'll fit through the tube or not, it's going to be close. But I have a big turn out up by the road where the boat mover is going to deliver her to.
And Yeadon, you are right of course.

She's beautiful. I love the lines. Can we see more? Love to see some interior pics...But get more blocks under that keel!
More blocks will be forthcoming, and more pictures. She kind of full of junk at the moment.

Ah, full of junk. That takes me back! I can't wait to hear about the surprises hidden by that junk! But don't worry, we've all been there. It's survivable with support, and possibly beer...
Fantastic! Can you tell us more about her?

Most excellent. A new adventure! Good luck!

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
I smell a hand troller's permit in your future.
Beautiful! best of luck reviving her!
WOW.
Congratulations!

That is a gorgeous, classic looking boat. I've seen much worse that were rescued. She looks just about perfect for cruising Alaskan coastal waters. How much you spend will largely depend on how far you wish to go with restoration, simply functional or all the way to pristine. Congratulations are in order. I have no doubt she will more than repay your kindness with many years of pleasant cruising. Sorry to hear about the troller. They are great boats and there are so few of them left. Glad to know you saved this beauty. Good luck to you both. - John
That is cool.
Cabin ports and some other things don't look exactly Blanchard to me but I could be wrong. Typical little cruiser of her era. Love it.
Superb! What an adventure!
When I first joined WBF they made me write a book to prove I was a real yachty. I was so gullible.
Good things come in big packages, too! I hope you have happy decades with her.

Needs a good, sturdy pair of stern bitts for towing, I reckon.

That sounds absolutely like what this boat is meant for!
An absolute stunner!

Can she make it through your "pipe"?
The charm of this vessel can't be denied. I will selfishly enjoy the story of your restorative work in this forum. Best of luck. May Poseidon smile upon you.

Beauty. Great character and gobs of potential. Awesome interior.

This is the first lesson ye should learn: There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, it doesn't behoove any of us to speak evil of the rest of us.
