I have fallen for Friendship Sloops. Can't think about any other type of boat. But I also cannot locate good places to find them. fss.org site times out on me quite a bit. Cannot find a good place to find older ones for sale. Or even reproduction ones.
Would love to find a boat builder who specializes in Friendship. Can anyone help?

Try Ralph Stanley in Maine. He has no web site but has ads in every WB since day one. In fact, some of his early ads emphasized "not JUST Friendships" He built Roger Duncan's (of New England Cruising Guide fame) "Eastward". Roger Duncan also wrote a book about Friendship Sloops called, amazingly "Friendship Sloops". Its out of print now, I believe, but the internet has sure made finding OOP books easier to find. My public library had a copy. Good Luck, Rick

You should also try Paul Haley at GW Full & Assoc, in Marblehead, MA. Paul owns Tern, a 100-year old Friendship Sloop. I think there are several listed for sale on Yachtworld.com's boats for sale page. Good luck.

The WoodenBoat School has a beautiful Friendship Sloop built to a Joel White design. I'd bet if you could make your way to Brooklin, Maine, they'd take you for a sail and point you in the right direction.

Cannel. Page and Payne usually have some Friendships. The glass Friendships that have been built are all real nice jobs. There are day trip opportunities aboard Surprise out of Tenants, Roger Duncan's Eastwind out of East Boothbay. Good article by Roger in the most recent Maritime Life and Traditions.

Just FYI, there's a Friendship doing day sailing trips on Lake Champlain out of Burlington, VT. It's named, of all things, "Friendship"!

If this "Friendship" is the one I think it is, it use to sail charters out of Hyannis. By the way, that one was fiberglass.

Brooke - Another Frienship Sloop deep appreciator . . I was thinking of a new boat considering a Marshall Cat, finally settled on this Friendship-type hull then built by Offshore Yachts in UK. An authentic Firendship has a normally doubble headed gaff-sloop rig that may not do windward all that well, - and is a lot of wash up there when the weather changes . . in stable weather a-ok but a hefty haul to loft it.
My Nantucket Clipper named Princess We No Nah had a yawl rig I found perfect in East Med . . . so many ways you can balance the rig with the mizzen stays'l. Purists will object to the glass, but the bow treatment with a nifty front (double) stay access was very effective. She powered with a 10 hp Bukh that was a pure delight (for an engine man like me) - quiet, well installed.
A purist would say I was short of yare. This little boat was a delight, had a long keel, bought the option of a Lloyds registered hull laminate . . at least someone got a lunch out of the deal.
I've seen Nantucket Clippers in the Boat Trader. There are a few NCs in the U.S., and I don't know if Offshore still builds them in UK. My yawl rig "immitation" Friendship sloop delighted. Oh, Euro's use chain, not anchor rope like we do on these coasts, usually (so what do are you planning with all that ROPE Cap'n?? . . going whaling ??)

this boat is mint condition I'm not sure what he is asking $.
I know that the hull is cedar finished so well it almost looks like FRP from ten feet away.
I don't know all of the particulars on this boat but I could get the information for you.
The reason I know of this boat is that it happens to be sitting next to my project boat.
