I've got drywall screws in at least three lengths, plus some deck screws too. I know I have finish nails in a couple of sizes, and roofing nails as well, plus a few odd spikes. I've got a pretty big inventory of bronze wood screws as well, I think mostly #14, but I haven't looked at any of this lately, so I'm kind of uncertain. Oh, and some carriage bolts, I know I've got some. I think 3/8" and 6+" long.

I've got four more #6 1/2" flat head bronze wood screws than I thought I had. I wuz paintin' the spreaders, and lo and behold, two fittings, one on each spreader, had the wood screws in addition to the through bolts. They were counterbored so well, that I couldn't even see 'em until I got way up close. I have a bunch of #14 2" flat head bronze screws that I use to fasten cleats to the mast. I have dozens of used drywall screws, mostly scattered around the garage (oops! I mean boatshop) floor.
For those of you who can't get enough of fasteners, try reading the piece by Ed McClave on metal fasteners that is published by WB in the bood on planking and fastening. I never realized how much I was doing wrong until I read that. It's a good piece, but falls short of explaining what happens when you use stainless steel fasteners with bronze gronicles.
I could go on, but I don't want to spoil the ending.

You should see the bucket of pulled fasteners that one day I'll take to the junk yard. The money will pay for lunch if I'm not too hungry. And then there's those coffee cans of odd screws that I can't bring myself to toss in the junk can. So far I have not, but I keep thinking that one day I'll find just the screw I need at the bottom of one of those cans.
I also have a bunch of old magazines, but that's another thread....

I just bought a new dead blow hammer and I've bringing the thing with me everywhere, just looking for a chance to use it.
