I am seeking the names of some experienced, qualified wooden boat surveyors in the New Haven, Conneticut region. I am in the process of purchasing a 1967, 37 foot Egg Harbor. I am from Pennsylania and am not familiar with the surveyors in the Conneticut region. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I know of two surveyors in CT. One if Fletcher Ryan, Mystic, tel 860 572-8220. The other is Bill Robbins of New England Marine Surveyors, Clinton, tel. 860 669 4018. Robbins just did a damage evaluation on my wooden 40 foot yawl, to get an estimate of repair costs following a collision during a race, and I got the impression that he knows wooden boats. I do not know about Ryan's experience with wood. My only contact with him was in reference to a glass boat. If neither is the right guy for your needs, I think they will tell you so and point you toward someone else. These fellows all know each other. CARL
