I spent some time today on the phone with Tulsy, then with Glen. Tulsy is doing fine. He still sez he ain't coming back - and I believe him. But, hey... never say never. Nice to talk to Glen. He seems to be doing well, also... though it's too danged hot down in that part of the world. He said he did get a year's timeout, and will be back in March. Says he misses this joint. We miss you too, ya ol' Humanitarianist!

It looks like there has been quite a bit of rain here in Mississippi this summer. We have someone to cut the yard, but the pasture just gets mowed when I come over. The grass isn't as high as it was in April or June, but it has grown a lot in the last 6 weeks.

I saw Toni Green Friday night. Her music isn't quite my favorite genre, but she is a very talented performer.

I got a reply from Heather, the young lady on violin was Alice Hansen. She also plays in the Blackwater Trio which also includes Walt Busby of Heather's band.

More heavy rain here this afternoon. Flash Flood warnings. Had to work on the lawnmower most of the afternoon before the rain started. Didn't get much of anything accomplished today.

More dang rain here. Still haven't quite finished mowing the pasture and the yard that I mowed Friday needs it again.

I was standing just to Terry's right and front when this was recorded. I spoke to Terry outside just before his set. His van was parked right beside my truck. I have seen Terry perform about 7 times now and he said he will be back at the Mighty Mississippi Festival in October. Terry's grandfather and father were both Mississippi bluesmen.

    Good morning ladies & gents,

I'll get the coffee going before Jimmy decides to try and brew it up from grass clippings...

And to celebrate my upcoming mini-vacation... I brought in a coffee cake.

It has rained here every day since I have been here. I never got to make grass clippings yesterday. Got to head back over to Georgia tomorrow.

My canoe over here is the aluminum square stern one. I sold the outboard that I used to use on it. Donnie that I sold it to still has it, but it is in Georgia. I also have a 9.9 Evinrude in Georgia, but that is probably to large for the canoe.

I think it made it into the low 90's in Clarksdale Saturday for the festival, but it hasn't been above the 80's here at my place. That and all this rain is very unusual for the Mississippi delta in August.

    Kevin,

Thanks so much for resurrecting that video. Wish I'd been there.

Too danged hot already. It hit 100 y'day, and didn't drop nearly enough overnight. It was 70F when I got up at 5:30. And it is due to go higher today. 102, I think. Luckily... I'm leaving this morning for the coast - where it will be much more civilized. And.... being the Toledo Wooden Boat Show... I'll be on/in the water. Hoorayyyyy!

I almost forgot. Y'day I picked up an infusion contraption for cold-brewing coffee. Washed it all up, set it up, and threw it in the refrigerator o'nite. This morning, after 12 hours, it was chilled and ready to drink.

    http://primulaproducts.com/coffeewar...ffee-on-the-go

I can see why people rave about it. Talk about smooth! And flavorful also!! My only problem now is that I bought a small one. 5 tablespoons of ground to make 20 oz of brew. That's enough for the morning... but I'd love to come home to some for after work... all chilled... and steeped even more (apparently you can let it steep up to 24 hours). The experimentation will continue... but I'd call this a success already. Really tasty brew.
