Thanks, Bobby. If I'd known I'd meet a Bern look alike, Id have started playing with these little boats sooner. And had I known the mayor of Freedom Lake is a staunch, dyed in the wool Trump supporter, I would have never given him my e-mail addy.

That seems to be the preferred method when Frank starts in on illegals taking all the good jobs and free stuff. Which is funny as some of the guys are immigrants. The others are good at topic changing -"Hey Bill, ya get the new sails for that x54 yet?" - and when that doesn't work, 2 or 3 of them lining up in a slant formation to T-bone Franks boat usually gets his attention onto other topics.

Yet another indicator that that's a good group; hardly any talk of politics and even fewer who care what someone elses views may be. The lake is all about sailing and I'll gladly join the efforts of those who try to keep it that way.

And thanks for talking me out of wearing my O'bama t-shirt to the lake back when, Bob. If I'm in the mood for poo flinging, I'll save it for the bilge.

I always try to be careful, Kevin. It doesn't always work.

Here I thought Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest. Not on the internet, apparently.

Same thing happened here a few minutes ago. 1/2" in 30 minutes and it brought temps from mid 90's to upper 70's. feels almost liveable out there.

Fixin' to fire up the big Weber and cook some meat for the week. Chicken breasts's and bone in pork chops were on sale this week.

I've got to stop reading the news site. Long weekend here in NZ...11 dead on the roads. It seems every time I check there's been another multiple-fatality.

I had to stop reading news outlets a couple years ago due to lack of space on my internal hard drive.

Why the high traffic fatality rate, Sean? Holiday weekend? Suspension of speed limits?

It's a good thing I mowed and got the laundry caught up last week. The tropical depression out over the Gulf of Mehico was upgraded to a tropical storm named 'Colin' yesterday, and the projected path has it going right across the part of the state where Carter and Lefty live. I talked to Doug yesterday and he was considering tying down his bee hives and making other preparations. Could get wooly up that way today.

The upshot is that the storm has been picking up speed the last few hours and (hopefully) if that trend continues, there's a pretty good chance the storm will blow itself out before it comes ashore. In which case it will be a few days of really sloppy weather. If the lateral movement should slow down the storm may stall and build strength and the predicted path will change hourly.

Apparently that little pop up storm yesterday, knocked out the power to Cedar Point Amusement Park, 30 miles west of here.

Too many people getting shot round here for traffic deaths to get much news coverage.
    How sad is that?

Hey David, good to have you back on the field.

Hope you guys don't get too badly hammered by all the weather. We're have record breaking heat here - 116 yesterday, 112 today thru the rest of the week. The plants would love a little rain, but not for months to come.
The best statement I've seen from this latest carnage came from a student who lived through it -

Got side-tracked by an ad hoc 'honeydo'. Shuiffling stuff to make room for the oldest. He's moving back in now that he's done with his bachelor's degree. He's headed off first (tomorrow) for a 2 week cross-country drive with his sweetie, but all his gear had to find a home. We made a bedroom available for him. He says, at least for the summer, he's gonna set up in the back yard and make believe he's camping

Yeah, there's been lots of it. Rain gauge out back quits working at 6" and that happened late yesterday afternoon. Been raining since Sunday noon, gurgle, gurgle.

This band is moving right across the bay here and the red stuff is what sends Red up my leg.

I just remembered that screen shots from WU like I posted above will refresh and give you a current look at conditions every time you bring up this page. It will likely look like blue skys later today but when I got ip this morning there was a band of showers stretching from just below Daytona, through Tampa and stretching into the Gulf 150 miles or so, all of it moving along the direction of the squall line, right over my house, basically. Enough already!
