Yes... well... at least I recognize that I'm delusional <G> However the part where I'm doing a lot of regular, physical, but not backbreaking labor does help keep me fitter than I'd otherwise be.
Hope your day is good, fun, and productive also! Do keep an eye on Tulsy. You know what sort of mischief he gets into when he slips the leash...

What... is EVERYONE passed out in the storeroom?
I just dropped into home for lunch. Love this Shop Nearby thing. If I'm out running errands at lunchtime - I can come home for lunch! Sometimes, with a little warning, my sweetie will even have it ready for me. Gotta scoot back - lots of sanding, puttying, and sanding to do. Plus the finish supplier - M.L. Campbell - is stopping by to talk about some advances and new products. MIght give one of their pre-catalyzed conversion finishes a try on this job.

Three so far.
Might as well have a cold Lone Star to celebrate.
Anyone else?
A Lone Star and a shot of Mezcal for you, my friend.![]()
BTW...how are you, Bobby?
My chickens got to move into their new prison this morning at about 4:30. My wife said it had to be lion proof, Hell it may be bulldozer proof. You would think these were her babies. It only took me about a month ta get it built it and yesterday I was not really sure I would see it finished. This dang rainy weather just about does me in.

What a sad site it was watching us carry the chicken coop out of my shop to the new pen, Wifey was basically carrying it and me, every few steps she made me stop and rest. Don't know what I would ever do without those girls. I am just about as worthless as a human can get.

Seanz, you can do more sitting in your chair at breakfast time than I get done all day. Kinda sad really, there was a time I was able to carry my load, now I wait for some one to come by and help me do these things that I can't do anymore.![]()

I shall continue to vigorously refute the idea that you are worthless.

Need some energy in my morning...can't play it too loud this morning. Who's gunna complain? The excavator operators? Move that earth, move it.

Thank you Seanz.

Yep, at an engineering supply place the other day and another customer said "Nah, nah, I'll be alright" after the sales staff fella offered to help him and picked up two heavy bags of product (about 100 pounds) and walked out the door. We sort of stared after him and shook out heads then agreed that that's not how we do things anymore.

I thought, Ha! those bastards have had all the fun they're going to have with her (us) already.

So I'm at the store earlier because I knew it's the last day for a sale (trained seal, anyone?) on standing rib roasts ($8.67 per lb). That's around $5.00 off per lb, and they didn't have any on display.
"Oh, we could cut you one". So I see a bone in ribeye in the case, same f'n thing, that looked like a two boner, about 3" thick, so I asked if that could be had for the sale price of the roasts (instead of the $9.23 (sale price, cough, cough)). "Sure" she says, as she plops it on the scale.
Moral of the story? It pays to be nice to the meat lady in times like this.

There's more to a person than a day's work. What you know and remember is worth a lot. What you love and cherish.
I can put in a half-day and that does it— I have to get out of the heat and take a nap. Of course, I can get more done in a half-day than I could at twenty.
Pretty boring, today. I clipped the Russian olive I lopped yesterday (fire hazard) and loaded it on a wheelbarrow and rolled it up to my shredder stack. Wore doubled gloves, since the thorns are sharp and the wounds get infected. Snip, snip. Bend down and say 'ouch!" Back and forth.
While it's good to convert a fire hazard to compost, that shredder is a nasty SOB. Noise, dust, clogs. Looking forward to it.
