What are you moving with that Sean?
Kinda looks like a piano dolly.
The red wheels give it that race car look.

Limited workshop space, Kevin. There are wild rumors circulating that garages are for cars...
So, made a frame from 2" box steel to hold a big Makita thicknesser/planer. Welds look good at this distance too.

It was Rhiannon that introduced me to that Dolly Partin song. Don't think that I have posted this version of this one. I have posted a couple other versions.

What a heck of a thing to wake up to, thanks Bobby. I love the part where she pulls the beer from the nifty holster and pops the top bare handed . . . as all the dogs calm down at once. Sit, stay, good boy, lol.

I went looking for info about their distribution and couldn't find any recent news on the topic. There were some articles from 2011 stating they had removed 6 more states from their distribution, making the total 13, mostly due to a shortage of certain hops and their inability to keep up with the growing demand. In another article they had reduced distribution of one of their beers to Maryland, where their brewery is located, because it was selling so well there that a years production was all they could keep up with.

Michigan banned some of their brands for a spell, due to vulgar images and text on the labels. An appeal was won by the company on the basis of free speech and the liquor commission was ordered to allow the sale of their products again. Who knew?

Those are the welds you mentioned a couple pages back? I see what you mean, yer welds look similar to some of mine? We should get Tulsy to give us some lessons.

I'll bet it was fun threading that 4th nut on those casters, the ones inside the long tubes.

Not all that odd I guess, I was surprised back when they used to sell them in Publix's, seeing as their stores are generally run conservatively. It's good to know that, in all likelihood, we can't get them here because the company's doing so well they have trouble keeping up. Good for them.

Here in Okie land you can only get that kinda beer at the liquor stores and I guess it must sell pretty good because almost all the stores I have been to carry it.

Lessons wouldn't hurt, practice would really help.

Even more fun than I thought it was going to be. In my head (which is why so much engineering gets done on paper first) I was going to use a 16mm socket and bar from my 1/4" drive socket set to hold the nut and with the depth of the socket being just right to hold the spring washer too. This did not happen on account of the socket and bar not fitting into the steel tube...slightly too tall.
Sooo, open-ended 16mm spanner with some gaffer tape under it to hold the nut in place and some Blue Tac to hold the washer on top of the nut...

Hey Sean, did ya just build one of those? That is really a handy thing to have, just think one for the tool thing one for your chair and one for the beer cooler. Maybe a small motor and remote control on the beer chest one, and ya get to practice the welding and wrench thing.

That was last weeks job, BobbyT. Just fitted the thicknesser onto it today. The welding worked out about as well as I expected...maybe even better.

i don't see any reason why three bolts per caster wouldn't be sufficient

hell, just weld the suckers on there
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

The only good thing about these is they mold right to the ground when ya pour them, no wobbly steps. When I was doing my walk way I always bought the 80 pound bags because it was much cheaper in the long run.:
