I think the best thing might be for everybody else to just join back in again, I almost thought that I had the place to myself there for a while.

BB King used to drive a tractor near Indianola, MS. He might have plowed this field. The view would have been familiar to him. These are soy beans, corn on the far right.

Mornin' all. Where's the crank handle and the starting cartridges for the coffee machine?
And where, oh where, is that Bobby of Tulsa? Never have I encountered a man so generous of spirit and so hard of listening.

Morning seanz,
I already made coffee. It's back in the store-room. I put it there so, if Tulsy showed up, he'd have to talk to me before I told him where it was <G> Miss that danged Okie. Talkin' to a Texan is almost as good... but there's nothing quite like an Okie. If fact... you can ALWAYS tell an Okie... you just kaint tell 'em much...

Talking to Texans is fun, talking to Oklahomanites is even better.
It's 4:44. Top of the mornin' to you. Me? I'd rather be f'in asleep...
Where's my good mate BobbyT?

I scrolled back to the last Pub post of his I could find, in May, and his green light is on, so he's either alive and logged in, or he died at his computer and hasn't been found (I'd guess the former). Don't think I was around when he ducked out, so I have no idea what's going on.
Spent the morning crawling around in the dirt. Our spring was so cold and wet that the quick switch to summer caught me unprepared. Got three beds dug and weeded, with two composted, raked, and ready to plant. But I was so drenched in sweat that I had to quit. Once I cool down and grab a bite, I have to dash down to the rental house to put on the last piece of baseboard and clean up, then come home and write an ad. Mostly, I feel like stretching out belly-up on the floor and napping.
About Metty: the Wolf Goddess tried to get in touch with the Magic School folks, but they weren't picking up their phone (not really a phone, but some magical fiddle that beams messages on the aetheric plane). She's got powers she doesn't understand yet and she can be touchy, so I hope nobody set her off.
I counter the effects with a frosted mug.
Buys me just enough time.

I'll tell ya Noey, it's pretty dang hot in Ohio and very humid.

I'll stand you a nice cold glass of Golden Monkey - a Belgian style ale with a taste of priming sugars and a bit of a kick. Should make you forget that Lorain heat!

My pleasure. Potent stuff- Yes it is.
Better keep that bowl of pretzels or "bar mulch" nearby to sort of dull the effects a bit. My Uncle brought me up a case for my birthday this year. I cracked the first one tonight. It's gonna take me a bit to get through this case - I'm definitely gonna need a bit of help, eh?

Canoez... yanno you can count on us when it comes to helping out with the heavy lifting!
I'd best wait a bit, though. I'm sipping a Session beer for the thirst-quenching aspect, and because I'm just settling in for a dab of office work. When that's done, I'm happy to bow to the blandishments of the brewer's art.

You can't go yet... you haven't played a classic bit of the blues - like "Bubba Shot the Jukebox", or summat.

I might as well set the coffee pot up while I'm awake.

Bobby is a good man alright and he's quite alive. Talked to him on the vid-phone last eve and, from what I gather, there wasn't any one thing or person that set him off, per se.
Between the tenor of the forum at large, being upset by the way some members make sport of denigrating others in the bilge, (he really despises that) the frustration of knowing he'll never be able to change it, and that he'd probably get banned while trying . . . along with the sense that he's mostly just talking to himself in the pub here like a dog chasing his tail, killing valuable time that he realizes is all too short.
In short, it seems he's just fed up with the direction his life has taken lately and is looking to shift course. Part of that involves "spending less time in a chair getting flustered by a damn computer and more time living life"! (his words)
And to that I say, more power to him. I wish him every success he can muster. We all get to that point eventually where we need a better sense of purpose. Bobby just happens to be there now.
I'm sure we'll survive on Fred's coffee while Bob's busy with some introspection.![]()
