It's time again. it's that summer feeling by Jonathan Richman. It does recall a time and place when things seemed easier.

I'm back in Georgia. I stopped by the Hubert Sumlin Blues Trail marker in Greenwood. I've passed within sight of it many times, but didn't know it was there until recently. Hubert is one of my favorite guitar players. He was childhood friends with James Cotton and they both went on to play with Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters.

I know you can do it, sir! I'll wake Glen.... so he can sample the output, and approve it for public consumption. It IS his reputation on the line, eh? <G>

Thirteen days on a gig in the South.
We've got enough dope to keep us all around
We've got two girls dancin' to bring in a crowd
A sound man to mix us, make us sound loud
Sometimes we make money, sometimes I don't know
There's thirteen days with five to go

There's Birmingham, Mobile, and up to Baton Rouge
We're smokin' cigarettes and reefer, drinkin' coffee and
    booze
I saw the sun go down in Atlanta, come up in New Orleans
I got to know a waitress, I tried to get in her jeans
Sometimes we make money, sometimes I don't know

I hope the 13th is lucky for one and all.

I can't seem to get Glen to serve as beta-tester... guess I'll have to do it. Saaaaayyyyyy.... couldn't find the filters, eh? Where the HECK did you find Skipper's old skimpies??? I thought those were Long Gone. Make mine a small mug... the 32 oz. size. If I don't make it... Tulsy gets my collection of Slim Whitman 45's...

I wish that Okie would show up!
Hell, I set a bait out for him with a fan blowing the scent in a northerly direction...the scent of steamed tamales, Mescal and cut limes.
    If that fails, it's hopeless!

I finished the mug. I'm fine. I'm sure the heart palpitations will slow down soon. And this skin rash... probably nothing serious. I wonder, though, why the veins are moving like a river full of anacondas under my skin - which is translucent, and shifting shades of pastels and jewel-tones. I never knew you could HEAR colors...

    Evening, Kevin.
I didn't want to go either. I got a college deferment for a while. Then when they had the draft lottery for me, I got a 321 lottery number. That made me safe from getting drafted.
