Morning all, a cupcake with my coffee would be nice and a good way to start this Thanksgiving day off.

I think he made them last night and got in a hurry to put the icing on and they turned out ugly so he left them for us. Are you ready to cook today?

No bet. Both of them have taken turns in Scot's turkey funnel and will be leary of going there again. Understandably.

Cooking? We got a 6lb breast O'turkey and thinking to do it in a countertop nesco roaster, after reading here in the bilge how good they turn out. She likes to chop and prep and the new oven will be free for green bean casserole and pie. Should be a laid back day with the 2 of us.

I went into the house for a fresh beer the other evening and Blondie asked me to help her open a bottle of wine, saying, " I tried 3 times but the corkscrew just pulls right out." The delivery service brought her a different kind of wine than she usually gets. I politely told her to turn on some lights and put her glasses on, as I unscrewed the lid.

She was a good sport about it and we had a good chuckle, me being careful not to laugh to hard. She'd prefer calling those moments of blondism than 'senior moments'.

Kevin, the pumpkin pie was good. I shared your story with my wife and youngest, more than a few tears were shed. To those that are gone but not forgotten. We miss you all.

They're pretty much all homely ones. I did a powedered sugar/butter/boiling water glaze because the store was out of heavy cream y'day for real frosting. The glaze tends to be runnier anyway, than getting in a hurry really made a mess. Still tasty, though.

Hope everyone has a lovely Turkey Day. With no shindig going on, it'll be quiet here. I lazed around in bed finishing an early Heinlein 'space opera'. Later, I'll broil the steelhead fillet for the two of us. My sweetie will seize the opportunity to hole up and work on a song she's got the lyrics for, but needs to finalize the music.

Jeebus, indeed!!! Well... I figger, in the company of such luminaries, if I just keep my head down, stay quiet, and don't respond... everyone will forget she ever mentioned me.

Turkey day was Great, just the three of us and enough food to feed about five or six more. We will freeze a lot of it for later. The spatchcock thing worked out really well. I will bone the rest of the meat tomorrow and make broth from the carcass. The girl will take a bunch home with her. The chestnuts Fred sent me worked really good in the dressing.
