Seems that is the norm anymore, dependable people are hard to come by.

Morning David, I feel your pain my friend, kinda like when you hang onto that bull for seven seconds and hit the ground just as the buzzer goes off, plus get stomped on by the bull.![]()

We all knew that the Ducks making the playoffs this year was a long-shot. All the stars would have had to align just right. But to put themselves out of contention with such a lackluster effort was painful to watch. <sigh>
Never been stomped by a bull. Never tried rodeo at all. But helped my brother with the few head of beef cattle he kept for a while. Had my foot stepped on a few times. No broken bones... but jeebus that hurts. Had 'em pin me against the wall & stall, too. Picking 'em up and moving 'em over is beyond even me. <G>

It seems to me so many times in sports that a team will just totally forget they came to play and walk away wondering what happened.

Ayup. I waited the entire first half for them to realize they were in a real game and buckle down. From the score, it appears they finally did late. Too late. The other thing it revealed was how green the Ducks new coach is, when compared to an old pro like Herm Edwards. He came in with Oregon well-scouted, and with a brilliant game plan, and with a squad convinced & motivated.

Dang Mr.G, I would have thought a liberal Unitarian as yourself would be all into that forgive and give another chance thing, another bubble burst, no wonder I believe in beer as a cure all.![]()

I'm a big believer in second chances (or more)... and redemption. None but the most depraved should be defined by one bad act/decision.
But getting a second chance doesn't mean we all just smile, and nod, and make believe whatever transgression didn't happen. It means that the person admits his error, apologizes sincerely, and makes amends as best they can. When I see any of that from the Philadelphia organization... then we can talk about forgiveness, eh?

Maybe I forgive more because I have been forgiven for more than he or his team ever did.

I hate all the sports things, If our kids worked half as hard on education as on team things this world I live in would be a better place and that goes for college teams as well, one injury can stop you in your tracks and don't get me started on the pros. The tax free thing they get could feed and house many people.![]()
