It's unreasonably cool here this week, and it looks like it will continue all month. First week of September is usually nudging 90°.

Yeah, 52°F sounds pretty nice - as long as the wind isn't howling. Going to be about 70°F with a 5mph breeze for tonight's Bears opener against Green Bay. The Bears will figure out a way to lose. But, I'm going to make a NY strip steak tonight, so the game doesn't matter.

I do steak maybe four times a year, but while I'm between jobs, I'm going to live off what I have in the freezer and pantry. I should be good til Christmas as long as the electricity doesn't go out.
I checked out Unemployment yesterday, and there's a chance I may qualify, because I was treated as an employee, even though I started on a contract. We'll see.

Fred, being a Bears fan you may remember this player.
I remember him from high school at Freer, TX and college at Texas, and of course with the Bears.
    Enjoy that steak, amigo?

I hope you get the Unemployment, that will help you with time to job hunt. After Christmas, we will take up a food drive for you.

In the next hour my life will turn upside down, this is the witching hour or something for me. I sit here and do not even need to look at a clock to know the time anymore The cloud just rolls in on me.

Wow. A half hour of posts just suddenly appeared. This forum really doesn't like me.
Yes, I remember Mongo, and I even have an autographed picture of him.
The Unemployment would surely help. I got a call from a temp agency I've worked with in the past. They may have a two to three month contract position (with SAP) starting October 1st. That would be perfect.

From Ghost Ship (1952) In our business, the only plan is: - There is no plan.

Regardless, I also wish I could be of some help, Bobby.

Fred, I don't know why this popped into my head but who was that dude you and your daughter used to get a picture with? A hippy, surfer type or some thing. Just a need to know. Maybe a music guy?

IDK, Bobby. I'm having problems all over this forum, timing out, can't edit, no refresh. You name it. It's not just in here. I had to close the tab, and log in again to do this Reply with quote.

That's probably Bob Bitchin, founder of Latitudes and Attitudes magazine. Ex-biker dude.

I had to get a stand in from their booth in 2016 when my daughter was planning her wedding:

The forum is still having troubles. Last night, I posted on the Dorian thread. The Bilge page showed me as the last poster, but when clicking on the thread it didn't show my post. When I got up this morning my post had shown up. I just had to close the tab and then open this in a new tab again.

This should be good. Recorded in Mississippi with some folks that I really like. Ghalia is from Brussels, Belgium but has visited here a lot.

Never say never, Bobby. If this October 1st job comes though, I'll probably spend a weekend in Des Moines, and Tulsa's only 7 hours from there.

I don't know, Jimmy. That band's got to take it down a notch or two and let the girl sing. She's trying too hard to compete with their volume to establish her stage presence, and it seems like she's losing the fight. I looked around YouTube, and see the same thing on other tracks.

The new album doesn't seem to be with that band, but with some Mississippi folks. The Dickinsons will know how to record and produce it. Here is one recorded solo at the Shack-up Inn in Clarksdale.

    See See Rider - Ghalia
