Yeah... I made that claim. But it was a joke. Which I much regret. As I have no desire to be associated with someone as misguided and misinformed as the fellow in question. As far as members of the 'WBF Community' go... we all have our quirks and failings. But I regard him as the near-perfect antithesis of the ideal.
I had been saving 'Sinnerman' for the day Trump resigned... or was voted out. But it's too good to hold on to. I love it. Nina Simone is the benchmark... but there are several excellent versions. The Soul Train Trio version knocks my socks off.
My brother had this version on a 45 when I was young. First time I ever heard it. The lyrics are nice and audible... but subsequent versions are far better.

Good evening gents!
I've been in a fog all day, dull and lethargic...just now feeling better.
Maybe a double shot of Mescal would get me back to normal.
Good evening Mr.G. You know I mean no harm and never again will I say such a thing about you, at least I did not call you mdh. That should mean something.![]()

The Highwomen: Highwomen
Well I just got back home, the woman pulled up in the drive an hour or so ago and said we need to go mow the girls lawn. So an emergency cut of what looked like a hay meadow and a stop at the beer store and I am back home. Man Bob don't travel after dark, what a different world and that big ol moon. Whod a thunkit.

Mowing that lawn with the lights on the mower took me back to a simpler time, plowing at night after the day chores were done.Nothing can compare with only the sound of the tractor and the night life in the headlights that you see. Probably as close to heaven as I will ever be

I saw that big moon, not quite full but very close.
Hey Jimmy, how are you sir?

Remember all those Midnight's I worked at the shelter?
Since I retired I'm hardly ever out after dark in this town.
It just ain't safe and that's when all the bad stuff goes down.
I like watchin the Moon from my own back porch.

Shiner Bock is the only Shiner I buy any more.
I'd be glad to give Mr. Trump a shiner.

Must be the moon. Admired it with the 2 year old from the back deck. But neither of them wanted to go to sleep. Just now got everyone settled down. Way past my bedtime!

Got coffee, Bloody Marys, warm beef tamales.
A light spatter of rain started while I was out on the porch. We need an inch or two.
Have a good day amigos!
Taking a chance here...a song for Syed plus a cup of tea!
Morning folks, back in the land of the living I think or I could be mistaken I guess. Glen those are some really pretty gals in that video and even if I could not make out the words it was a pleasure to watch. I hope Syed is well and all his loved ones. If he looks in may be he will have another recipe to share, the last one was a good one.![]()

Morning All,
Tamales sound delish.
The gradkids were restless all night - so the adults didn't get enough sleep. Might have to take a nap after the kids pick them up. <yawn>

Morning Mr.G, sounds like your night was kinda like mine.

Speaking of recipes and Syed, I was reading Indian and Pakistani recipes for okra, it's called bhindi. They saute it with spices called masala and call the dish bhindi masala.
Next time Syed is around maybe he can give us some info.
I was surprised to see okra is popular there.
Hey Glen, I am glad to be here I think and damn glad you are here. The last recipe Syed posted was some kebobs and dang were they good.It is hard sometimes to find all the ingredients here in Red land but that is changing and I am glad for that.
