My thermometer in the shade is touching 100, they say the heat index is 108 humidity is 61% but there is a nice breeze and the shade is bearable. I can't do that kind of heat so here I sit in the cool of my room.

In his introduction to that song, Memphis Slim said that it was written by Peter Chatman. That was him. He was born in Memphis as John Len Chatman, He used Memphis Slim as his stage name and published songs under the name Peter Chatman.

It was a productive day, and never really did heat up. The overcast failed to burn off at all. Hooray!

The most exciting part of the day was that I got 'my' (I stole it from my sweetie fair & square) guitar back from the tech. It's all dialed in now, with lower action, nicer strings, and MUCH easier to play.

I'm pouring you some of this Zaya12 I've been drinking. It's so sweet, it's almost a dessert rum. Really delicious flavor, though.

Glen, you played that version of Ry Cooder's Across The Borderline. I noticed that it was co-written by Ry, John Hyatt and Jim Dickinson. Jim Dickinson was a studio musician and producer and was associated with Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and many others. He was the father of Luther and Cody Dickinson who make up the North Mississippi Allstars. He worked quite a bit with Ry Cooder and toured with him for a while.
