Morning All - I wish I could be a lazy rat today. Instead, I've got an early delivery to make, and an all-day install. Luckily, no rain forecast. I'll take some of that coffee!

I don’t think most folks realize how cold it is here with the fog. Yeah, yeah. I know. It’s only 40. But, it’s a soaking wet 40, because the air is saturated.

Living in a chilly cloud sucks. Brrr.

Plus, I can’t even see across the yard, and it ain’t but 1/2 acre...

    Peace,
    Robert

I own 7 pairs of socks. 5 pair of tube socks for boots, and two pair of wool socks for alpine time.

I am wearing a tee, a long john shirt, a flannel, and a nylon shell for the wet. Just pants and no shoes. Beret on the top.

I have had to wring out my beret already. Hahaha. It’s FOGGY!

    Peace,
    Robert

It’s funny about my shoes. I got sandals and sandals and sandals. Mostly huarache types.

I got a couple pair running shoes, which I use for coaching.

And I got steel toed boots and cowboy boots. Real riding boots, too. I’m getting ready to make a wooden horse for my buddy’s sadlle. He’s got one of those crazy, ornate Mexican saddles belonged to his abuelo.

I sometimes wish I had need/money for horses. Really, I’d love a team of draft horses to work. That’d be nice...

    Peace,
    Robert

Right at 40 here also and cloudy, but our clouds aren't at ground level. Rain moving in tonight and tomorrow. Radar shows rain not far north of here in Arkansas.

No horse for me, I'm a city slicker.
    Don't want no Winnebago either.
I've had my share of drivin on the path.
I want a wooden boat so I can blaze my own trails.

Boats I got. Three that need to go, and, like, NOW! Green skiff is being revamped for this year. I will most likely row more than anything in the future. Unless I move.

Which I could be forced to do a thing anytime. More than horses to work, I suppose I’d like a home of my own. I suppose if I worked harder and made better choices...

    Peace,
    Robert

When I built my barn/shop, I bought the lumber from a father and son run sawmill. They said some of their logs came from a fellow that logged with a team of draft horses. I saw several people plowing with mules around my place in Georgia when I moved there. Most of that land is covered with subdivisions or McMansions now. I owned a horse to ride for probably over 1/2 of my life.

When I was just a pup, there was an old man in our neighborhood that had a span of mules, a plow, a sickle mower and hay rake. I took to following him around as he looked for work. That was before they locked everybody up that befriended children. He taught me how to harness those mules and as I got a bit older he let me plow, mow and rake hay. I was not big enough to put the harness on them so he would help me. Now if he was here he would have to help me again. Things change as they stay the same I guess.
