Hey Glen. I've been in the mood to hear Shannon today. I looked at her website, hoped she would be at Foxfire on April 15th, but she will be in Dallas with Kenny Wayne Shepard at the House of Blues. I see she has a new album coming out next year with Rodney Crowell producing it.

    Howdy Jimmy and Kevin!
I got good news from the Doc today.
I should not tell this here, but what the hell have I got to lose?
Fact is I ran out of Tequila last Thursday and decided not to get some more and dry out for awhile.
By Saturday I had no appetite for food!
By Sunday I had caught the insomnia and the anxiety.
I was in a miserable state of hopelessness and almost went to the ER. But I had made an appointment with a new doctor two weeks ago for today, so I figgered I could hang on two more days. I drank two beers Monday afternoon and noticed I felt less anxiety, and I got some sleep.
Tuesday I still could not eat and I caught the anxiety again!
That was yesterday! I bought a cheap bottle of Cabernet and drank half of it and lost the anxiety again and ate my first real meal in four days.
I met my new doctor today and she kept me for an hour and a half.
She told me that my big mistake was quitting the Tequila all at once.
Doc is a black girl from Louisiana. She told me that she could give me a drug for the anxiety, but since I have already had good results with the two beers and the red wine, she suggests I get a bottle of Tequila and take a shot with my coffee in the morning, another shot at noon, and a shot at 6PM, and report back to her next Wed at 11:45!
    Best doctor I've ever seen!

I ran across an interview with Shannon today on YouTube. She grew up and graduated from high school on Long Island in New York. Lived for a year in Paris while in college. She has lived in Los Angeles, then New Orleans. After Katrina, she ended up in north Mississippi and has stayed here for 11 years. I have 5 of her albums, which might be more than I have of anyone else. I really like her voice and music.

Coffee is pretty tasty this morning.
Bloody Marys are in the silver pitcher in the cooler.
I slept 7 hours straight through and feel like myself again.
Before it gets hot I'm planting my tomato and pepper seedlings into my small straw bale garden.
Sending good thoughts and best wishes to Aussie Barney and Sue.
    Have a good day amigos!

Glen - I believe I'll stick with the coffee for now. Some of us don't have a scrip from the medico to drink before noon, yanno <G>

I think you picked the right doctor. Glad you're back on an even keel.

They planted the field right down the road yesterday. They used a couple of these 8 wheel drive John Deeres pulling a planter about 3 times as wide as the tractors.

I figured that it was soy beans as that is what they grew there last year, but I just went down and looked. Yep, soy beans. The seeds have a light blue coating on them so they look like small little Easter eggs. I have read that Delta farmers are planning on planting more acreage in cotton this year. They must be expecting a good price. The field just east of the bean field had rice last year while the field across the road to the west had corn last year. There is also a very large catfish pond nearby.

Some of you viewers/lurkers need to drop in here for a drink and some popcorn and a closer look at Amber and Jett.
Come on in and tell me a story and play me a song on the jukebox!
We especially need a few ladies around this place.

OK... I got another nickel in today's mail. With instructions to play this one - both for the song itself, and for the preface --

This house is just west of the flight path of the local airport. The airport was opened during WWII to train pilots as Greenville Army Airfield. It later became an Air Force Base which was closed in 1966. The Little Rock Airbase that trains C-130 crews used to send their planes over to do touch and gos. I just saw a C-17 make a couple of passes. It probably came from the Air National Guard Base in Memphis.
