That's what I'm used to also. Today she said she would like to see me again in two months. I said how about six months and if I need you before then I'll call for an appointment. She said okay, six months. I like that! September 29! Ha!

Super Chikan playing his spade. Lee on drums. I think Heather was in Europe doing the Girls with Guitars thing with Sadie and Eliana at that time. Chimmy from Memphis on bass. Watching LaLa on keyboards is one on the best parts of his shows.

Of course that is OK with me. Usually when you see either Lee or Heather, the other one is nearby. But around the time that the Super Chikan video was shot Heather was in Europe doing this.

Girls With Guitars - Eliana, Sadie, Heather

Watching Lala on keyboards is the best show anywhere.

LaLa (Laura Craig) scares me. I'm always afraid that she is going to keel over from a heart attack. I have very seldom gone to Clarksdale when I didn't see her. I have spoken to her a time or two, but we don't really know each other.

LaLa Craig performs her original song "My Dog Loves Me"

Oh, I love it. I think you played this some months ago, or maybe a YouTube link rabbit hole lead me there. Either way, it seemed vaguely familiar.
This lady just flat out ROCKS! I love how she seems to being electrocuted by the piano when she plays it. There is so much passion in that lady!

    Peace,

Yeah, I've played that one from LaLa before. I have told her how much I enjoy watching her.

Robert, at that link, I really like: The Thin Places, Back End of the Canal, AMA'TPAN NA'MU. Those are some of the first that got me interested in his writing.

I made it back out here in the country. Looks and feels great.
The only belongings I have left here are a saddle, pad, and blanket, and a few native American made stone metates and manos.
I'm taking my favorite chili and soup bowl.
There is a realtor sign on the front gate.
The boys are okay living here until the place sells, then they will relocate in the hill country around Bandera.
    It's semisweet being here.
I'll make a small campfire later and visit with the boys
I'll spend the night here and leave in the morning.

    Glen,
My spirit is with you, Pard. I'm using my favorite folder to expand our treehouse lately. I'll be out there later, cutting joints in old cut off limbs and branches with my hatchet, machete, and draw knife, making a foundation platform for the second level. I do not play at my play, y'all. I only got one shot at this.
I'll light a fire, too, tonight, if it ain't raining.
If you hear someone butchering This Land on a uke, don't flip out. It'll be me...

    Peace,
    Robert

    Thanks, Brother.

See, arts are good for connecting souls. We, all of us who check in here, we all relate to these songs. They are like common prayers or meditations. They bind us despite our so called differences.

Same same with visual arts and writing. The things aren't really about what they are, but about the larger "something" that we all share that makes us human.

    Peace,
    Robert

Oh, yeah. You see Lala, tell her we think she is IT. Would I could live with such passion and adandon, if only for those brief moments of a song.

My 4 G grandmother (I hope that is the right number) was originally buried near that road before the State of Texas dug her up and moved her remains next to her son Ben McCulloch in Austin. You can see the cemetery in Google maps. If I ever get close, I would like to go by there.

Ben was buried 3 times himself. Once on the field in north west Arkansas, then he was moved to Little Rock, and finally to Austin.
