Yeah, I've played that one from LaLa before. I have told her how much I enjoy watching her.

Robert, at that link, I really like: The Thin Places, Back End of the Canal, AMA'TPAN NA'MU. Those are some of the first that got me interested in his writing.

I made it back out here in the country. Looks and feels great.
The only belongings I have left here are a saddle, pad, and blanket, and a few native American made stone metates and manos.
I'm taking my favorite chili and soup bowl.
There is a realtor sign on the front gate.
The boys are okay living here until the place sells, then they will relocate in the hill country around Bandera.
    It's semisweet being here.
I'll make a small campfire later and visit with the boys
I'll spend the night here and leave in the morning.

    Glen,
My spirit is with you, Pard. I'm using my favorite folder to expand our treehouse lately. I'll be out there later, cutting joints in old cut off limbs and branches with my hatchet, machete, and draw knife, making a foundation platform for the second level. I do not play at my play, y'all. I only got one shot at this.
I'll light a fire, too, tonight, if it ain't raining.
If you hear someone butchering This Land on a uke, don't flip out. It'll be me...

    Peace,
    Robert

    Thanks, Brother.

See, arts are good for connecting souls. We, all of us who check in here, we all relate to these songs. They are like common prayers or meditations. They bind us despite our so called differences.

Same same with visual arts and writing. The things aren't really about what they are, but about the larger "something" that we all share that makes us human.

    Peace,
    Robert

Oh, yeah. You see Lala, tell her we think she is IT. Would I could live with such passion and adandon, if only for those brief moments of a song.

My 4 G grandmother (I hope that is the right number) was originally buried near that road before the State of Texas dug her up and moved her remains next to her son Ben McCulloch in Austin. You can see the cemetery in Google maps. If I ever get close, I would like to go by there.

Ben was buried 3 times himself. Once on the field in north west Arkansas, then he was moved to Little Rock, and finally to Austin.

I hadn't walked down to the lower part of my land here in quite a while. A doe died down there sometime over the winter. The tail and limbs and much of the ribs are gone, but the skull and spine and pelvis are still there. A bunch of beetles are finishing cleaning up the bones. It is still a bit smelly there.

It's the same story the crow told me; it's the only one he knows.

Around here they call tires tars and wires wars and towers tires!
They learned it from their peers in their environment!
God help me, I understand them, and I love them!
Their politics are rudimentary pre Troglodyte, before they had caves, back when they laid out on the bare ground in the face of all weathers and pestilence.
They were tough as boot leather but dumb as rocks.
I've tried to despise them, but I can't, because I know that I owe them my very own existence.
