Back in 1970 there was a petition drive to make this song our national anthem.
What a different time that was.

I have to go to work.

I sometimes ask the guys on the jobsite "Do you know why I sing while I work?"
I get really dumb responses, then I tell them " because they won't pay me to sing otherwise"

I'm in a better mood tonight. My ass is in my grage and my travel trailer is in the driveway aaaand I am done building a bar in San Angelo.

I got my sister to order me that Townes Van Zandt - Live at the Old Quarter- CD for me for Christmas. She had it delivered to this house in Mississippi and the post office returned it as an undeliverable address since this house has been mostly empty for over three years. They are gonna reship it to my Georgia address. Also, the post office now says they won't do that any more.

It is now 75 F here and the low tonight is supposed to be 32. That is scary. Both severe thunderstorms and sleet are forecast for tonight.

Yep, both of them are good sisters, but Janet and I are closer. The other sister is about to move to San Angelo to be closer to her daughter.

Heather played at Ground Zero last night, but I didn't feel like driving up there. I really like that gal and hope to see her soon.

Freezing rain here, everything is covered with about a quarter inch of ice.

    I have coffee made!
Temperature out here in the badlands dropped nearly 60 degrees overnight, from 76 to 17. Brrr!
I'm glad you're at home, Kevin.
    Stay warm folks!

Shoot. It's balmy here. Nice and warm.

Did I mention I'm in the eating nook, and the floor vent is right under my chair?

If this weren't a desert, effectively, we would be covered in snow. Everything is frozen, though. The mud in the driveway is frozen solid. Anyone else trip out on frozen mud?

So. Off to work. Real work. Normally my work is hilarious fun, anymore, but occasionally I do still have to throw down.
At least I don't have to sling hay bales anymore.

    Peace,
    Robert

    David,

Goodness, no! Whew. I get my money for nothing, now.

But. I used to sling hay bales, and the cold was when I liked it least. I also used to cut firewood for money.
I have always had a huge capacity for work, and those "dumb" jobs allowed me to think while I got paid, then put my thoughts down after work, and try to get paid off them.

    Ha.

    Meanwhile...

    Peace,
    Robert
