    Default Best ammo

OK I'll confess that I am not a member of any gun forums to query this issue.

About a month ago some ahole tried to steal my nearly 20 year old pickup from the Home Depot parking lot. Today a guy I am working with told me that his very similar truck was stolen from another Extended Stay parking lot last night. (where I stayed a couple weeks ago) Apparently these older trucks are used for nefarious purposes along the border.

I have a pretty good shot from the second story window, nearly rules out unintended casualties.

Question is. Is it better to shoot out the glass with jacked range bullets first or just use the hollow points throughout?

    Neither.

A truck is not worth killing for.

Thanx Paul but I am at the end of my rope here. 20 years building from coast to coast only the last couple I feel the need to be armed.

And if you don’t care about the killing, ask yourself whether it’s worth going to jail for.

If you’re at the end of your rope homicide should tie it off just right.

The best ammo is ammo available to hand. And that's in very short supply these days.

Y'all best be stocking up on as much as you can get your grubby little hands on. When the SHTF, ammo will be the new medium of exchange. Those with ammo will eat.

Correct, one shot will suffice but you have to process all that meat. Smoking and salting takes time. Shirley you’re not just killing for recreation?

    Sad thread.

Can't you remove something to disable the motor? I used to take the distributor rotor or cap and leads with me.
Add an isolation switch, or wheel clamps.

The one person I caught attempting to steal a car of mine I kicked hard in the base of the spine with a steel capped boot, but he'd just picked the wrong place and the wrong time.

It’s sad if we take Catalina22 seriously. I figure he has few filters sober and fewer not but his truck and peace of mind is at risk. My $.02 he should sleep in the truck and leave the gun in the apt. until he finds a safe parking site.

Unless you really want to just kill someone, and then make yourself a target for all his buddies, id just wire up a fuel pump kill switch under the dash, or in the glove box.

Ah, now if feelimg safe while sleeping IN your truck is the issue, I can relate. I hade two Mexican looking dudes try to steal my generator off my tailgate that runs my camper. I was un armed, asleep in my camper in a Walmart lot when they tried it. I was trapped, unable to get out with them there, and if they came in, all I had was my knife ready to throat punch them with it. Honestly, if thats your issue, id carry a pistol that shoots 410 shells. Effective at close range, and collateral damage is light if you miss. Maybe you are a good shot. But not when you just got woken up and you are not thinking straight.

Me, I bought a sling shot.

I grew up in a maximum gun US Midwest culture. Still, I think I would much prefer traveling through Mexico and Central America without a gun. Property isn't worth a life and their beaches are public. Their priorities are in the right place...

fuel pump cutoff switch is certainly a consideration but I have spent enough. simple answer is keep hand off my stuff.

Consider cost of lawyer, and time off of work, vs, a 2 dollar cut off switch and some speaker wire. Thats still cheaper than a 20 dollar box of ammo.
