It is steel, sorry job of putting it together I guess. You would think a free replacement would be in order. That mower has never been abused and in the six years I have owned it it only has 200 hours on it.

Gin is not my favorite drink, if it is not mixed with grapefruit juice I will pass on it. Now a salty dog or greyhound I am all in.

I really am not a mixed drink person. If you cant drink it straight or with some citrus I will pass.

A day of remembrance. My darling mother-in-law passed a while back, and today we scattered her ashes in a beautiful ravine at Riverview Cemetary. Her name - Dorothy Ruth Mooney - will be added to a marble plaque there, with a gorgeous view of the river and mountains to the East & North.

The ceremony was followed by a small get-together at the Arnold Creek home of some longtime friends. All in all a very sweet, but melancholy day. Thanks to everyone who came.

A graduate of Cornell, and a literal genius... she was a brilliant architect/engineer, at a time when women were not exactly welcomed into the professional world. Sadly, some medical malpractice left her with an ailing body. Often bed-bound, she exercised her creativity by acquiring an early PC, and a digitizer pad... and designing fonts for a living.

She is missed, and will be missed for a long time.

Morning Salty dude. I don't know much about your weather up there but in a couple of months I will be able to complain about how hot it is.
I guess I better figger out how to make a birthday cake for the 88 guy tomorrow or may be just lift a beer to him. Anybody born on april 1 shouldn't expect much.

    Morning Gentlemen,

And Okies <G> Got the bandicoots on my own today, so we'll see what sort of mischief we can manage. They did pretty well y'day, with most of it taken up by the memorial service. 5 even helped scatter some ashes. But by late afternoon, they were morphing into 'I need a nap hyperactivity'. So we rounded 'em up and came home. Weather looks iffy, but if it holds dry... I might take them to the park.

His Leftiness was actually born April 1? Huh, actually that explains a few things
I'll give you the Coles notes of weather up here Bobby. The forsythia just bloomed yesterday (tiny yellow flowers). The old timers say that means its time to plant potatoes. Might get a touch more frost but not enough to kill taters buried a few inches. Beans and peas can probably go in in another 3-4 weeks to be safe. And all the tender stuff, stick with the old adage of May long weekend which for us is around the 24th. Then we get anything from cool rain to drought spells and over 100 degrees these days through summer. Come about middle of December we'll usually see first real snow and back to winter.

Dang this wind is crazy, the weather people said we were having gust up to 50mph I believe it. Trash cans blowing everywhere. I was sitting out on the deck and the dang wind tried to blow my walker away.

Thanks. We've been coloring and cutting out masks. Taking a break for lunch now. They passed up pizza for cold cereal. I wonder if that's a sign we eat too much pizza? I'm thinking about a big tray of nachos for dinner tonight. Can't do anything more complicated with my helpers.

If this wind keeps up our power will probably go out, My oldest daughter who live about 30 miles north of me is without power now. It is just flat prairie out her way Nothing but a barb wire fence to stop the wind.

I used to like storms, the wind the sideways rain as long as I was in a safe spot. Any more, yeah.. not so much. A couple few too many north Pacific storms slamming straight into our house when we lived up coast will do that I guess. Hope it blows itself out soon Bobby

Just got done with the third crew of appliance installers. They also failed to get the job done correctly. Left saying I needed to make some modifications to the house in order for them to proceed. I said even if that was true, fair, and reasonable (which i questioned)... either of the two previous crews of knuckleheads could have told me that, and I could have had the work done in preparation for the visit of crew #3. So I guess it's war. Back to Home Depot to file a formal complaint again the 3rd-party installers, and give them a deadline for getting it resolved or face both an order cancellation and a potential lawsuit. Baaaahhhh.
